wjag Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Boston has scored three SHGs on the same penalty. Boston opens the period on the PK and scores 3 goals against Cam Ward in 1:04 of PK time.. WOW!!

PromoTheRobot Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Canes coming back. 3-2 now with 5 to go. I'm having a hard time deciding who I want to face. FYI Rangers and Flyers are still play if the B's somehow lose. PTR

PromoTheRobot Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 4-2 final for the Bruins. That all but locks up #6 seed for Boston. I wanted to face the Bruins. I hope I don't eat my words. PTR
bunomatic Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 If ever there was a time a team basically mailed it in the hurricanes simply gave this one to Boston today. The Canes should have had their penalty killers out for that powerplay because the softies that were out there obviously could care less.Pathetic.

My signature block in which I quoted him proves this. Man, pathetic isn't the word! And we complain about our blueline corps...

Well, I used to say that an amendment to that line should be that , then you don't deserve to continue your season. I'd say that giving up three shorties on one shift also should end your season, which it did, but you should probably have your franchise yanked, too.
JujuFish Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Carolina gave up as many SHGs in 64 seconds as Buffalo has given up in its 81 games so far this season. Real nice there, Hurricanes.

That's an amazing stat given the chances the Sabres have allowed. It's like they're good for one shorthanded breakaway against per game.
NowDoYouBelieve Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 That's an amazing stat given the chances the Sabres have allowed. It's like they're good for one shorthanded breakaway against per game. I counted at least 5 good SH scoring chances for the Sens last night, including 2 breakaways.

SwampD Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 That's an amazing stat given the chances the Sabres have allowed. It's like they're good for one shorthanded breakaway against per game. Yep. It really reminds me of '05-'07.
Stoner Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Yep. It really reminds me of '05-'07. Remember the first goal of the ECF in 07? Wow, it's almost like the first goal of a series is huge! :)

So, if they went back to Hartford, does that mean that they can still lay claim to the SC? That's an incredibly depressing thought, given that the Whalers never earned that right. BTW, FWIW, I doubt we'll ever see 3 SHGs during a single PK ever again in our lifetime. That's a record that might never be broken.

FogBat Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 I just remembered that Niagara beat Boston to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzN-ZE4bFNk Well, I might as well call that "taking things for granted." What I meant to say is that Boston established an NHL record in that game that might never be broken.
Kristian Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Remember the first goal of the ECF in 07? Wow, it's almost like the first goal of a series is huge! :) I'm still pissed at Kalinin over that one.
