Stoner Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 ANOTHER Division crown! Cue the Lindy bashing, or do we get a break from that for tonight? Another? What's that, two in 12 years?
Stoner Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 i hope the crowd picks it back up for the postseason - it seemed like pulling teeth to get that last minute standing-O to congratulate them... I'm glad you said it and not me.
theend Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Another? What's that, two in 12 years? ...or 2 in the past 4 years, depending on how full you think the glass is...
theend Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I apologize if has already been posted elsewhere...but it's priceless...
ThePebble19 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I apologize if has already been posted elsewhere...but it's priceless... Classic.
Eleven Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Hitting the road in the AM. Came into town to see the whole fam damily. Too bad. I'm at the Avant tomorrow (the building your hotel is in). Would have been cool to catch a drink.
Eleven Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 ...or 2 in the past 4 years, depending on how full you think the glass is... Or 6 in 39. But it's Lindy's fault they won this one.
HurlyBurly51 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 You know this is only the second time we've won it with Ruff, right? ...or 2 in the past 4 years, depending on how full you think the glass is... Silence! Cynicism is the order of the day around here! And besides the division titles, he hasn't done anything else with his teams over the years either. If he wasn't negligent for causing our D corps to get injured against Carolina, he would even have a Cup under his belt, despite his "system."
Eleven Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Anyone else notice something strange tonight? Beginning about midway through the second, Drew Stafford began checking opponents. Actually hitting them, sometimes. At least once, he freed up a puck. I'm very serious: I didn't mind his play in the last 30 mins. I wonder if the prospect of getting benched for Ennis is on his mind, or what, but the kid actually played some decent hockey tonight (not talking about the points, those were nice, too).
bunomatic Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Did it look like razor wanted to take pierres head off with a quick right uppercut in that clip or what.Priceless! Back to the game, that Ennis kid can play!3 more points tonight and it looks like the future is bright for the sabres organization.Congrats boys on the N.E.division.
SabresRepublic Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Or 6 in 39. But it's Lindy's fault they won this one. Actually in 40 years of existence Sabres have missed the playoffs only 11 times! GO BUFFALO SABRES!!!

Also saw Pommers throw a few guys into the boards in the 3rd. Not sure who pissed in their cheerios this morning but if they need a refill I'd be happy to oblige to get that type of play every night.
inkman Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Not sure who pissed in their cheerios this morning... Lindy's new coaching tactic.
LabattBlue Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Anyone else notice something strange tonight? Beginning about midway through the second, Drew Stafford began checking opponents. Actually hitting them, sometimes. This has been Stafford's MO for a few years now. Lindy reamed him in the first period for the delay of game penalty and Stafford responds. Then a game or two later, it is right back to the same old Stafford(just like after he is sent to the press box for a game). I wouldn't get too excited over his play during 30 minutes of a game.
inkman Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Anyone have the password for the Justin TV online link? Ahh...nice avatar!
inkman Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Lindy telling Stafford to "get in the box" after the too many men on the ice call. I take it he was the man at fault. Stafford is heading to the press box as soon as Roy or Vanek get healthy. He is in a serious free fall. I was eating, drinking and watching Sox/Yanks but it seemed like he redeemed himself later...

nfreeman Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 How about Roy and Lydman sticking up for Miller with Shelley???? I had to wipe my eyes. That was so unSabrelike it was beautiful. I wasn't impressed. They showed up and pushed him a bit, but that was all. That was a dirty play by Shelley that could've ended the Sabres' season immediately. I wanted to see a much fiercer response. Who needs Vanek and Connolly? The Sabres do, if they want to beat a good team (which hasn't happened, not even once, in literally months).
Stoner Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I just watched The Save again. Wondrous. Miller's reaction after the whistle was pretty interesting. We haven't seen a goalie's head pecking like that since the days of Dom. Miller was fired up, which is very unusual for him. He had to be saying something to himself, or out loud. Was it, to Gaborik: "NOT (peck) TONIGHT (peck) MOTHER (peck) EFFER (peck)." Or was it, to his teammates, who just left him out to dry on a four on one: "NOT (peck) TONIGHT (peck) MOTHER (peck) EFFERS (peck)."
NNYSABRESMAN Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Just wondering. Assuming Vanek,Connoly, and Kaleta are all back for the playoffs. Is there any way to keep Ennis in the lineup?

That play was at the far end, so I didn't clearly see what happened--only the resulting scuffle. Can someone describe it?
Mbossy Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 i'm having a tough time figuring out how we just won the NE, despite the way this season has gone and the way most people have felt about the team this season....that said, you can only play the teams that are on your schedule, and at the end of the day, this team will finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference and that is to be commended. i hope the crowd picks it back up for the postseason - it seemed like pulling teeth to get that last minute standing-O to congratulate them... I was at the game last night. The crowd was pretty fired up. Let's Go Buffalo chants during the warm ups, standing O for Miller's blocker save, most people were standing and cheering with a minute to go. Probably didn't see much of that on TV seeing as the 100's and 200's were pretty cleared out with 5 minutes to go.
inkman Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Just wondering. Assuming Vanek,Connoly, and Kaleta are all back for the playoffs. Is there any way to keep Ennis in the lineup? Hmmm... Stafford-Roy-Kennedy Hecht-Ennis-Pominville Vanek-Connolly-Torres Mair/Kaleta-Gaustad-Grier Ellis being the odd man out???
Rox11 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Another? What's that, two in 12 years? The best time to read all of this is AFTER the Sabres win the division which better than half of the posts at the start said they would be LUCKY to make the playoffs, should fire Darcy & Lindy, keep Spacek, don't sign Connolly, Miller's too skinny, Roy is a metrosexual (?) ... it would be nice to go waaaay back and read posts from Sept 2009 and just before the trade deadline ...
spndnchz Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Great game to be at. If they play like this they'll continue deep. Thoughts: Butler: WTF? Stafford: WTF? and a woo who Miller: sweet save Ennis: Briere is back Lydman: should have fought, but had a good physical night Why is the first goal always seem to be scored when Mair and Ellis are on the ice? A nice standing O for Mike Robitaille as he did the 50/50 drawing with #11. Had his neck brace on, but in good spirits. He said something like "Hey Gil, this $26,000 is more than we made in a whole year!" No, I didn't win.
