henysgol Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 No, I meant that the difference between the city of Winnipeg (~630000) and the city of Winnipeg plus surrounding area (~690000) is only 60k. Oh. My bad.
bunomatic Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Henysgol, sure L.A. has a bigger population than all of Canada but I don't think you have a grasp of how passionate Canadians are about this sport.During the gold medal game something like 90% of the population watched the game.the numbers in the states were pretty big but clearly about 90% of your population could care less.Thats the difference. The question was could professional hockey survive in Canada not could the N.H.L. survive in Canada.Who cares if our precious superstars got less money. If they're paid for it,they're professional. As for our dollar taking a nosedive, there's no doubt that it would if we were tied to your debt.
matter2003 Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Americans already couldn't care less about the NHL. How do you think the ratings on NBC will be for that Saskatoon/Halifax Stanley Cup series? PTR Outside of the northeast and especially Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Detroit I agree...
