R_Dudley Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 -Nice bounce back game. TBL not quite up to OTT skill level/standards but still good to come back and win on a back to back which we have also struggled with. -Lalime looked pretty good and congrats on his 200th win. I say play him again Monday and if he does good again consider Weds also against FL and let Miller rest. -Finally after 2 years a guaranteed playoff spot, congrats boys. -Ennis looks good and I think he needs to stay and play up here and get his timing down for the Playoffs. Come on Sabres keep playing some good hockey and getting that game in order for Playoffs. I hope Kaleta, Vanek and Timmy are okay and healed with some time to get their games going again as well
Stoner Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Rick was in rare form. "Get back in the net! There's 3:19 left, you're down 7-1 and you're not making the playoffs!" I don't recall a Wave before at a Sabres game. Did I hear a "Let's go Lightning" chant at the end? I blame Lindy for ducking that puck. Take it like a man.

Congrats to Lalime. I think you have to keep Ennis up at any cost. He is the spark plug that the offense needs for the playoffs.
PromoTheRobot Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 It's weird to see another team play like the Sabres do when they suck. Tampa is just awful. Nice win but don't let it swell your heads. PTR
LabattBlue Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Game thoughts... - Missed most of the 3rd period, watching UK vs. WVU instead. - Congrats to Lalime. He made some really good saves in the 2nd period. - Ennis while clearly undersized has some serious skills in the offensive end. - Hope they saved some goals for Monday!
ThePebble19 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Here's a shocker...The only Sabre forward without a point tonight? Mr. Useless himself, Drew Stafford.
ThePebble19 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 My last point aside, I loved the showing tonight. This Ennis kid is just a firecracker.
Chemich Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Here's a shocker...The only Sabre forward without a point tonight? Mr. Useless himself, Drew Stafford. He still has that man-crush on Drury, some love just never subsides.
nfreeman Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I missed the game due to vacation travel. Can anyone give me the forward lines?
eball Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I just have this feeling that the Sabres will look dead tonight. Not sure why, injuries or if Lalime plays maybe, I just don't see a strong effort tonight. 5-2 Bolts. Good call. ;)

Have you seen Ottawa's remaining schedule...5 out of their last 6 games are Carolina, Islanders, Panthers, Tampa and a gimme win against us. The Sabres need to do whatever they can to wrap up the division. THey cannot afford to take any of these games lightly or Ottawa will pounce. The last thing I want is for the Sens to play for the division in the last game of the season vs us in their building!
inkman Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I missed the game due to vacation travel. Can anyone give me the forward lines? They only dressed 11 forward but I'll give it a shot: vanek-Roy-Kennedy ennis-Hecht-pominville Grier-gaustad-stafford Ellis-mair
Guest Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Good call. ;) Nailed that one. I think I'll pick them to get blown out every night. Wtf.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Went to the game with my wife and kids, Sabres were all over them. The Lightning have no heart at all.

It's sad when a team is more hopeless than we are. But at least we clinched the playoffs, there's hope in that although it not being that substantial.

Chemich Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Holy sh*t. Just when I thought the Eeyore quotient was nearly at the limit.... You haven't seen nothing yet. ;D

Maybe but lecavalier is one of about 5 legit nhlers on that team and he was only in for a cup of coffee tonight. I enjoyed the win but the ning suck moose ######.
carpandean Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 They only dressed 11 forward but I'll give it a shot: vanek-Roy-Kennedy ennis-Hecht-pominville Grier-gaustad-stafford Ellis-mair And then Vanek got hurt. After that, it was a free-for-all. I saw about 15 different combos.
carpandean Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 It's just a start, but this sure looks nice:
Doohicksie Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Here's a shocker...The only Sabre forward without a point tonight? Mr. Useless himself, Drew Stafford. Ack. You're killin' me here. When we were in Buffalo a couple summers ago, my son and I got Sabres jerseys at LAUX. Being the off-season, we had to get what was there. My son got Afenigenov and I got Stafford. I've been a Stafford cheerleader ever since but I gotta tell ya, it's getting hard to back this guy. He's like Vanek, with less enthusiasm (if that's possible) and fewer goals.

I think his problem is that he's too enthusiastic--to the point where he stresses himself out. Stafford, on the other hand....
wjag Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 If Buffalo wins 4 more games of the 8 remaining they clinch the division. Ott has two tough games on their remaining sched @Was and Buf. Buf has three games against non playoff teams, Tor, Fla and NYR. I'd say the division is all but clinched already. Remaining Scheds Buf at Bos Fla at Buf Buf at Tor Buf at Mon NYR at Buf Buf at Bos Buf at Ott Buf at NJ Ott at Was Car at Ott Ott at NYI Ott at Fla Buf at Ott Ott at TB
Stoner Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Vanek is nothing if not enthusiastic. I think his problem is that he's too enthusiastic--to the point where he stresses himself out. Stafford, on the other hand.... Vanek enthusiastic? The only emotion he shows is frustration. On one of the goals last night, he was the only Sabre to not react in any way at all. He joined the celebration with the goal scorer, but probably only because he had to. This guy is Larry David with incredible hand-eye coordination.
