I'm hearing that you never again will see the Sabres in the blue slug sweater. It's done, deep-sixed, kaput; the Florida game was the end of that.

After thinking about this a while, these jerseys are pure marketing genius. I don't know if there is anywhere on the planet where more softball gets played than WNY. They're gonna make millions.

Why can't we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Bisons last Calder Cup season and have the Sabres play one game in the red Pepsi cap jerseys? Bring back as many of the old Bison players they can find. They still sell the Pepsi caps jerseys in the Sabres store and maybe they can get Pepsi to sponsor it? I'm old enough to have warm feelings for the old Bisons. My love of hockey began with players like Giles Villamure and Guy Trottier.

Someone told me that Minnesota actually did this last year. I don't recall it, though. But I do not think it's some graphic artist who threw it together after a drinking binge.
