getting up at 5am to get tickets! woo! i'd say about 100 people at the field house right now camping out and playing NHL 10 on projectors outside. woo!

You should've just waited until you got to Detroit to buy. Sure, you wouldn't get those fan section seats, but you would have saved a ton of money and sleep.

Got that right; which is why I was there at 9 the night before.

I stopped by for a while around 11:30 or so. Stayed till about 1:30-2. Played some X-box and hung out. Would have loved to have stayed but I had worked all day and it just wasn't happening. Definite props to those that did tough it out though. I was jealous I couldn't.

It was pretty busy Sunday morning at 2:30am, that's for sure. I haven't been to campus yet besides to the gym today, but I'd imagine there's a lot of talk. I got told all day at work that my coworkers saw me on the lunchtime and morning news here at the victory celebration smoking a cigar on camera. Apparently being the loud guy with ridiculous mutton chops gets you a lot of attention. Players on the team recognize me in passing before I recognize them lately.

With that pic, you're doing your best Isaac Asimov impersonation.

I know it's not what you were going for, but I have to point out that they've already won 6.

Who? RIT?

Wisconsin. Yeah, you were saying the team you root for doesn't win now, but I just had to throw that out there because I have nothing better to do today.

I think you misinterpeted what I wrote, but if I try to clarify it, that will cancel out what I'm trying to do.

No, I know exactly what you said, but I figured I'd mess with you.

Set my DVR to record ESPN2 from 5:00 - 8:00. Unfortunately, that means I can only record the Sabres from 8:01 on (girlfriend gets the other record slot.)

To you RIT folks: I'm sorry the dream ended tonight. Hopefully, the success from this year generates interest from good players in future years. Be proud of your team's accomplishment this year.

:worthy: I am sure this is the beginning of many years of greatness for this team. Be proud and thankful for the great support and success this program is receiving!

Agreed. They are a quality program but still not on the level of some of the big boys. It was a great run for them though and hopefully sparked some interest in the hockey program and brought a lot of good publicity to the school.

Wisconsin did what Denver didn't do by taking the puck to the net. The Badgers were coming in waves. Also I think it helped that Wisconsin had 2 weeks to prepare for RIT and had some film on them. I remember reading somewhere that Denver didn't know much about them.

On a side note:

Now that RIT has had a taste of the Frozen Four, does anyone forsee RIT giving out scholarships now? The stat that stood out to me was the number of NHL drafted players on each team except for RIT and as The Mullet said, the guys drafted are not 10th or 11th rounders. They are 1st and 2nd rounders and are viewed as future NHLers.

Tough game to watch. It was a great season for them; it's just too bad it had to end on such a bad note. Hopefully, they're focusing on the good parts, but also learning from last night.

glad to see my alma mater gets a chance to avenge its frozen four losses of 1990 and 2006. as to the former, i call on a bc and sabres alum (well, sort of), and current bc assistant coach, greg brown, to inspire the troops!
