CallawaySabres Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 The past 3 games have been just awesome to watch as far as the passing and goal scoring. I felt like I was watching Detroit from a few years back where they would just take games over and you KNEW they were a top notch team. I don't know if it will last but Pomminstein and Hecht have had A LOT to do with it. I think it is so noticeable because they were playing some of the most boring and laid back hockey right before this road trip.
Doohicksie Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 When Hecht is hustling, he is really tough to contain. He is very fast around the outside and effective at protecting the puck when doing so. Couple that with his propensity to fire the puck on goal from any angle and at unexpected moments and, yeah, some great goals to watch. I think the team in general is developing some real nice chemistry, possibly at the optimum moment.

I hope that they give Miller some rest down the stretch and continue building off of their last three games. It's all about who is clicking and playing well heading into the biggest tournement of all, the playoffs.
CallawaySabres Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 Kennedy is also reminding me why I liked him so much in the beginning of the season. It just amazes me how fun it is when a group of players actually pull it together on the same night. Keep the top two Lines EXACTLY the way they are now and don't touch them. Torres is off the team as far as I'm concerned....

Color me surprised that he has put up 6 goals and 4 assists in 11 games since the break ended.
gregkash Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 That line in general seems to have found it.
nfreeman Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I need to see them play well against and beat Ottawa, NJ, Pitt, etc. before I start exulting about how great they are. I like what I've seen from the top 2 lines in the past couple of games -- but we're talking about Fla, Tampa and Carolina here, including some pretty substandard goalies.

nfreeman Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I'm not really claiming them to be great, just fun to watch recently. Definitely more fun than the prior month! I hope I'm not kidding myself, but I'm allowing myself to hope that Kennedy sticks on the Roy-Vanek line and the 3 of them thrive together for the rest of the year.

I hope I'm not kidding myself, but I'm allowing myself to hope that Kennedy sticks on the Roy-Vanek line and the 3 of them thrive together for the rest of the year. The chance of that happening and the early spring weather sticking around Western New York are about the same.
Calvin Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Agreed that the last three games were against non-contending southern teams.. but as someone else pointed out, they were games the boys were supposed to win, and they did.. with some flair too. I don't recall too many games this calendar year that we won by more than one goal and without resorting to some sort of Alamo-like standoff at the end. If we can carry over that form to this week when we have two key division four-pointers, team morale is going to be sky-high with playoffs under a month away.. go Sabres, git 'r done!
BuffalOhio Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Magic number of points equals 12 at this point in time. 6 more wins and it's ours. Any combination of 12 points won by Buffalo and lost by Ottawa/Montreal and it's done. C'mon boys, get it done!
