theend Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Crazy that the Lightening pulled their goalie with about 3 minutes left... even crazier that it worked for a goal. They've been pushing all period, though...was 8-3 in shots...but Vanek just sealed it with an ENG.
theend Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Pominville with the hat trick. Where was this when the Lightning were pressing earlier on?
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Now need to come out like this saturday and especially Sunday PM
theend Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 A bit too lazy in the 3rd for my taste (the last 2 minutes notwithstanding), but hopefully they keep this up in Miami and Raleigh...
Iron Crotch Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Up 5 points in the standings now on Ottawa with the loss by the Sens.
Stoner Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Harry mentioned a song during the second intermission. "Little Things Mean a Lot." That brings back some memories. Danced to that with Mary W. at the spring cotillion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nNk3ZlDsL8
Stoner Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Trivia -- Jason Pominville has three career hat tricks. How can this one be connected to "Robert Esche has lost it!"?
theend Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Trivia -- Jason Pominville has three career hat tricks. How can this one be connected to "Robert Esche has lost it!"? That's the last time he scored one, I think - first round against Philly in '06.
SabresRepublic Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Tell Lindy to come talk to me when the benching applies to all players not just his whipping boys. Sit down Roy, Pominville, Vanek or Connolly for a game(and at numerous points over the last 3 years they have all deserved it) and I'll be more impressed. Your rationale is right up there with Colon and Buttman's decisions all season long regarding head shots and discipline afterwards and was part and parcel responsible for the cheap shot against Butler and NO call because these morons are delaying implementation until next season. Kudos Rivet. Pomminstein: hat trick Roy: SH Vanek: EN Is it too early for the Sabres to go on their 10+ game winning streak? GO BUFFALO SABRES!
CallawaySabres Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Really needed a non stressful game like that - what a pass by Connolly...
Stoner Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 That's the last time he scored one, I think - first round against Philly in '06. Partial credit! Pominville scored one goal against Esche in that game and two against...?
theend Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Partial credit! Pominville scored one goal against Esche in that game and two against...? Oh, that's right! Nitty!
Saudi Arabia Rob Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 I was at the game tonight and it was the typical game in Tampa, about 25%-30% of the crowd was for Buffalo. What was neat was at the end of the game, the three stars were all Buffalo guys, Miller, Roy, Pominville, and they all came out for the curtain call for the Buffalo crowd which moved down to the lower bowl. Sabres looked pretty sharp for most of the game. They had a bit of a letdown in the 3rd, but when your up four goals and the other team is bad, it's hard to keep going. Tampa is a poor team which didn't pass well and didn't clear their net. Buffalo did come out on fire the first period. Hopefully, they'll keep this up for Florida, which always seems to give them problems.
LabattBlue Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 A win is a win. The Sabres gave up a ton of good chances tonight, but scored 6.
EdwardSauve Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Has anyone noticed who has now slid back to the #6 slot in the East? (I may have missed it, sorry). %^&*
Figster Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 A win is a win. The Sabres gave up a ton of good chances tonight, but scored 6. Nice to get the two points and see Ottawa slip to 5 points back and still have a couple of games in hand, I smell playoffs...
rickshaw Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Gulp. If the playoffs started today we'd play......the Sens. Yikes!
JJFIVEOH Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Gulp. If the playoffs started today we'd play......the Sens. Yikes! I'm starting to get this feeling that we're going to end up playing Ottawa or Philly in the first round which scares the ###### out of me. I'd take the Habs, Bruins, Rangers or Thrashers any day over those two.Not just because they're higher in the standings (right now) than the other four, I'd say the same even if they were lower.
gregkash Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 ill take philly in the first round. I would not like the Sens, we can't beat the Sens for the life of me.. Although, maybe they'll capture the '05 magic. Playoffs are a whole new season. Things change in a seven game series. But ideally, I'd rather not play the Sens anymore than I had to.

ThePebble19 Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 I'd take Philly and their goaltending any day of the week. +1. Leighton is out for 8-10 wks, Emery is out for the season...that does not bode well for their chances, even if they make the playoffs.
