Rip Titwide Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 How did Mr Intangible play??? Dropped his stick next to the goal in OT and watched Kaleta bounce in the winner!!
mrjsbu96 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 i watched the entire Ranger postgame show and apparently they did not see the same game that most guys in here saw. if it was truly as bad as made to seem around here, i think the ranger post-game guys would have been a bit more emphatic about the home team coming up short, and deserving more, etc. rather they gave credit to buffalo for playing a good road game and for beginning to look like they have turned their game around..
Wilbur Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I think the monkey just jumped off my ***squirrel***
MattPie Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Couple points I'd like to add: 1) That was some dubious officiating in the 3rd period. Sekera gets high-sticked but no call. But the Sabres get two ticky-tacky calls that allow the Rangers to tie the game. They missed a Buffalo high-stick on a Ranger player about 30 seconds before the Sekera one, so I figure that's a wash. :)

I hope they are turning their game around. Winning--even winning ugly--builds confidence, so maybe we'll start to see some scoring from the Sabres.
Calvin Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 How did Mr Intangible play??? A small peg or two above being called Mr. Invisible
scottnc Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Pominville is just weak on the puck and almost never accepts a pass cleanly. The puck is always jumping over his stick. Watching him play live is incredibly frustrating. Does anyone remember when Pommer changed his stick blade last year and they made a big deal about it? It seems to me since then, he fans on a lot of shots/passes and the puck does tend to jump over his stick a the blue line (many frustrating PP memories). Maybe it's nothing, but he definitely needs to start earning his money in the offensive zone.
rickshaw Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 A small peg or two above being called Mr. Invisible So now that the Olympics are over, he's gone back to being an overpaid 3rd line center making 1st line center money and not really contributing anything a youngster from the AHL couldn't bring? Glad we didn't trade our whole team for him at the deadline.

He would be a worthy trade for this team I think.
Sabre Dance Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 It is very sad that the Sabres have to rely on Mair and Kaleta to be their goal scorers. Just :censored: awful. At least they grabbed two points...
wjag Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I imagine there are some absolutely miserable posters on here now that they won two in a row..
wjag Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I'm amazed how little discussion there is on here about the off sides wiping out the goal. That was a TERRIBLE call. Replays clearly showed the puck was on the blue line. I haven't been over to the Rangers site, but they have to be spitting tacks.

I am sure others did too--I did at home. It did look like a bad call--but it was hard to tell. But I don't think you can assume a goal would have been scored if the whistle did not blow.

Our defenseman stops it short of crossing into our zone, pops into the air, lands on the line again, Rangers are in the zone and then the puck. On the way in, the puck needs to be passed the line. Same way that on the way out it has to go all the way out, on the line is ok. Same way players hav to tag up by going all the way outside the line, not just touch the blue paint.

Hadn't paid attention to whether it was in the zone first. I thought it was, but now I'm not sure.

Skate contact with the blue line, according to the rule book.
