PromoTheRobot Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Did someone here post that games on NHL Center Ice will be on during a free "sneak peak" this week? PTR
EdwardSauve Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Did someone here post that games on NHL Center Ice will be on during a free "sneak peak" this week? PTR On NHL.com it says that Digital Cable customers would get the 1 week preview 3/2 - 3/8. I don't think DirecTV will have it.
TomSmith Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 You don't need a free trial, the games are streamed on the internet.
plenzmd1 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Did someone here post that games on NHL Center Ice will be on during a free "sneak peak" this week? PTR PTR, i think there is a free trial this week. Just heard it again on the NHL network in the car..look at your guide for times and stations etc. EDIT..look slike it is only cable systems http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=519505

carpandean Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Yeah, they're not streamed onto my 50" plasma however. They are if you have a computer with a graphics card cable of high def (1080p or even just 720p) output and an HDMI port (again, not 100% necessary, but better if it does.) I know mine does; doesn't everyone's? Actually, I don't connect it to my 42" LCD, but I do have a 1080p capable 21 1/2" LCD monitor for my desktop and high def video looks amazing on it. Youtube now has many videos in 720p, including those from NHL.com, and they are great to watch when I need a break.
Stoner Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 TaroT started this thread a while back: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/16683-center-ice-free-trial/ Sounds like the free trial is also on DTV.
Two or less Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 You don't need a free trial, the games are streamed on the internet. I buy the center ice package and it's the best value for the puck. I pay $140 for the season. Way more convenient then looking for games online or whatever. Just a click of the remote, i go from game to game.

That's great, but I'm pretty sure they don't stream live NHL games in HD over the internet, do they? That's what my point was in reference to. I have streamed games live from the p2p sites using the browser in my PS3, but they look like ass.

I'll have to check it out. I do have 20MB/sec downspeed so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem. Still, I'm guessing it would be nowhere near as good as a typical HD television feed, right?
