MidwestSabresFan Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Just heard them talking to Torres and he seems like he's excited to come in and help. On another note, they say Toronto is in que with the NHL trades to move Stempniak, and Buf and Phil. are not in the mix.
nobody Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 TSN currently has TBD as the return of Columbus on the Jurcina trade on their live draft tracker. Not sure yet. 6th rounder.
Linksfiend Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Sabres still @$1.8 mil under the cap. MacArthur's $1.4 and Paetsch's $0.85 = Torres's $2.25
Eleven Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I've said it before and I'll say it again. The don't trade within the division idea is complete and total BS. If a team within your division offers the best package, you take it. That's especially relevant for a team like Toronto that is completely out of it. Hell, they did send us Dom Moore last year. Especially now that there are only six games against each division opponent. Not markedly different from trading w/i the conference, anymore.
shrader Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Sabres still @$1.8 mil under the cap. MacArthur's $1.4 and Paetsch's $0.85 = Torres's $2.25 They'll actually have a little more space thanks to what they've banked over the year. It's not a significant amount though.
shrader Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Stempniak to Phoenix. You have to love seeing them being able to do anything.
Stoner Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 They'll actually have a little more space thanks to what they've banked over the year. It's not a significant amount though. But they're not on the hook for all of Torres' salary, are they?
shrader Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 But they're not on the hook for all of Torres' salary, are they? Good point.
LabattBlue Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Don't despair at 3PM, there were a good number of trades announced after the deadline last year.

spndnchz Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 They'll actually have a little more space thanks to what they've banked over the year. It's not a significant amount though. They had about 5.2 million of full year cap space.

nobody Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Andrew Alberts to Vancouver Carolina gets 3rd rounder
LabattBlue Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Kings get Modin from Columbus for future considerations. Another guy I liked along with Belanger, who would make for interesting acquisitions in the offseason.
Realist Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Another guy I liked along with Belanger, who would make for interesting acquisitions in the offseason. With the Caps grabbing Belanger, they are really going for the Cup this year. Already the odds on favorite and they get Belanger, Corvo, Scott Walker, and Jurcina.
