Corp000085 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 According to WGR550. got a link? I'm behind a firewall and for some reason radio station websites are blocked.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 TSN confirmed. Mika for a 2nd round pick. http://www.tsn.ca/
GGM Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/trade_deadline/tracker/ This is all I have right now.
GrimFandango Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Good for him... best of luck to Mika... he really was as much of a team player as could be expected under those rough circumstances...
Kevbeau Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 TSN is also reporting. I feel let down and deflated.
Corp000085 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 TSN confirmed. Mika for a 2nd round pick. well there goes that controversy.
Hawerchuk Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yep, just saw it on STATTRACKER. MILLER and BIRON for the cup run!!
LabattBlue Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Good for Mika. I really hope he gets a chance to prove he can be a #1 goalie at the NHL level. Now where are my reinforcements on the blueline Darcy??
Hawk Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 For a 2nd round pick,,,totally disappointing... :( :(
Hawerchuk Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 MIKA will love it in B.C. Hell, he'll get his chance to start right now!! Now, hopefully the 2nd rounder might fetch another "gem".
Goodfella25 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 yippeee, that 2nd round pick will look great on a line with Drury and Kotalik for our cup run this year  Basically, I am only happy with this if we bring in a scorer or a top-4 defenseman. Then, I like thefact that we were able to get a 2nd rounder...but if we don't make any other moves I am not happy with this
LabattBlue Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yep, just saw it on STATTRACKER. MILLER and BIRON for the cup run!! Yeah...Miller in the net and Biron on the bench. <_< I think Darcy taded the wrong goalie, but if he wants to piss away 2+ million on a guy who won't see the ice come playoff time, so be it.
Hawerchuk Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Now where are my reinforcements on the blueline Darcy?? NICE!! :D
Kevbeau Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 I have a bad feeling that we'll be talking about Mika as the "one that got away." I relaize Miller is the future, but I really would have rather dealt Marty.
PTS Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 From what I heard, don't expect anything more. Darcy is content with the team we have and he wanted a lot for Marty. If he didn't get a lot, he was simply going to trade Mika for a pick, which is what ended up happening. Lets just hope Ottawa or the Rangers don't improve their team too much.
Hawerchuk Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Yeah...Miller in the net and Biron on the bench. <_< I think Darcy taded the wrong goalie, but if he wants to piss away 2+ million on a guy who won't see the ice come playoff time, so be it. Look. I'm just saying that the Buffalo Sabres are gunning for the whole thing this year. Hell, we have the talent with solid goaltending right now; (What it takes to win a Stanley Cup boys). But you all know that I'm assuming. Yeah, we need a D guy and it might not happen for a trade this year. But I'm feeling good about this squad right now. ;)
shrader Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 I like the fact that we got a 2nd round pick for Mika. I wasn't expecting that much for him. My guess is that the market was just too dry for the more valued goalies like Marty. We still need to add a d-man. Even if it's just a new 7th d-man, I'll take it.

X. Benedict Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Underwhelming News. What I don't get is why nurture Mika for 4 yrs to come away with a second rounder?
LabattBlue Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Underwhelming News. What I don't get is why nurture Mika for 4 yrs to come away with a second rounder? Just looking at it from a return perspective and not factoring in how it doesn't help this years team, considering how little the guy has played over the last 4 years, a 2nd round pick is pretty damn good.
GGM Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Underwhelming News. What I don't get is why nurture Mika for 4 yrs to come away with a second rounder? You mean after spending a 1st rounder to get him? ;)
Swedesessed Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Ill reserve my judgement till after the deadline passes... If Regier does NOT get a defenseman or something for this year...then we will all know that he was probably more lucky then good in assembling this team
