theend Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 What do the Sabres have to gain by bringing in a better backup? A few points here and there? Miller gets a game or two more rest? I just don't see the point of it. I agree (though I can't tell if PA's being sarcastic or not) - we need more than just a back-up. Lalime isn't perfect, but he'll do for what the team's realistic goals are this year - make the playoffs, get past the first round. Unless they go on a sudden, ridiculous tear, and everyone plays to their full potential for the next three-four months, I don't think this team can win a Cup as-is. It needs an infusion of leadership and toughness, along with one more reliable skill player each at forward and defense. That should be addressed through trades if at all possible. Back-up can wait till free agency.

frisky Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 IMO, no way we're getting another back-up. It's been shown Lindy isn't going to use him much and not nearly enough for any guy to be sharp playing once a month. Although, I'd love to see Marty back just cause I like him, I don't think he will be. Also, I don't believe Enroth is the answer for any of the big clubs goaltending needs now or in the future. Miller is going to be here for a while and possibly even after this contract I hope. The next Miller is not yet in the system and probably playing one of those little kids in the Blue Shield commercial. Sabres will go as far as Miller can take them. End of story.
