nucci Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 oh no ill be around dont worry Actually, I am going to worry. You want us to go on Facebook to tell our GM to bring in a back up goalie you like? Wow!
TheImpact Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 He was a great goalie who a lot of buffalo liked? Showed more spirit than most of the team does. Can i remind u of his hard nosed effort in the ottawa brawl. Or the win streaks he put together when miller was out injured? What has Lalime done for us.
Two or less Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 Hey everyone im new here. My names kris and its nice to meet you all. If your on facebook i created a page to bring marty back to buffalo. If u dont mind following that would be great and if we can spread the news around maybe management will take notice. I'm aware lalime is not the only problem on the team, but i cant take watching his play anymore. Miller is spent and with the olympics coming up he is going to be dead. We need Martin Biron back. So tell your friends and join the group please. Thank you! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=294313685052#!/group.php?gid=294313685052 Can you explain to me what makes Biron a better goalie then Lalime? Because I think Biron would be a downgrade over Lalime.
TheImpact Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 lalime has given the sabres a total of 8 wins in the past two seasons. as opposed to 16 regulation losses and 5 more ot losses that makes him 8 and 21 as a starter. that alone shows we need a new reliable backup goalie. more often than not biron did a solid job as backup

Up till that point he shared duty with Miller. As has been noted before, when Lalime gets to play, he plays well. When Lindy staples him to the bench for half a month, he's not going to do well.
TheImpact Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 we all have good points. i just wanna see management actually make some moves that make fans go woah they actually are trying to better the team
billsrcursed Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 we all have good points. i just wanna see management actually make some moves that make fans go woah they actually are trying to better the team Not sure how Biron is going to get us past the 1st round... Think about it for a second; a trade for a BACKUP goalie midway through the season doesn't make any sense. At all.
TheChimp Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 He was a great goalie who a lot of buffalo liked? Showed more spirit than most of the team does. Can i remind u of his hard nosed effort in the ottawa brawl. Or the win streaks he put together when miller was out injured? What has Lalime done for us. I like your moxy, kid. But if you call what happened in that Ottawa game a brawl, then you obviously were not alive for hockey in the 80s. Nothing that occurs on the ice post-lockout, except perhaps some games out West here and there, come CLOSE to actual brawls. No, really, calling it a brawl is a disservice to the word 'brawl'. I can not stress this enough. Oh and Biron sucks now.
Sabretip Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 This team could desperately use Marty back here. When Lalime starts the team plays tentatively in front of him. Marty is well rested and riding the pine in NY as the no. 3 goalie. Bring him back! I doubt it happens this season because 1) the Sabres won't eat Lalime's salary for the balance of the year nor sit him as a 3rd goalie; and 2) they have higher priorities to address (PP, offense) right now via trade. However, with both Biron and Lalime set to be UFAs this summer, I think it's very plausible that the Sabres may bring Biron back if he's willing to accept the backup role (still an unknown because all of the media interviews he's done since leaving Buffalo have echoed his desire to have a shot at # 1) and is affordable (no more than $1.0M).
nucci Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 we all have good points. i just wanna see management actually make some moves that make fans go woah they actually are trying to better the team and acquiring Biron would do this for you? plus its, whoa!
Kristian Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 and acquiring Biron would do this for you? plus its, whoa! Personally I'd probably go "DOH!" if Darcy's annual trade was for Biron.
darksabre Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Personally I'd probably go "DOH!" if Darcy's annual trade was for Biron. Agreed. Unless Marty also happens to be a top line Center and we just didn't know it.

I wouldn't even describe him as "very good". He was a slightly above average goalie...nothing more, nothing less. PS How much of a fan favorite he was, has no place in the discussion of why he should be brought back here.

TheImpact Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I think that would make his record 8-16-5. ;) true but the ot losses cant be considered wins so i put em in the loss comlumn. my point is Lalime is worse when it comes down to either him or Biron putting on the Sabres uniform. His record is not good this year because look at the team in front of him just take that into consideration
inkman Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 ha yeah i was born in 91 so i can only judge wat i have seen since then I was almost finished with my Bachelors degree by then! :(
Rip Titwide Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I dont know the rules on this type of transaction but if Lalime gets another conditioning stint before the season resumes in March he'll be fine to spot Miller every 3rd or 4th game, like he was before. This going out to get a backup thing is maddening to me because we all know that when April rolls around, Miller is the EVERY game starter and (knock on wood) should the unfortunate happen to him, the Sabres are dead in the water without thier All World anyways. I loved Marty's personality as much as anyone, but take this idea and bury it out back along with your shoot-out specialist ideas. Neither help past the month of March. Big face-off winning C. D-man strong on PP ah hell who can just hold the puck inside the blueline
korab rules Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I was almost finished with my Bachelors degree by then! :( Where did you go to school? Maybe he's your kid!
darksabre Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I was almost finished with my Bachelors degree by then! :( I was 4...
shrader Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 PS How much of a fan favorite he was, has no place in the discussion of why he should be brought back here. Unless it's some sort of front office public relations position we're talking about. My god, I would love that.
