matter2003 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Sabres losing in the third period seems to be a trend in recent games...they need to get it fixed and fixed fast...
... Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 The refs won that game for the Canucks. The Sabres played well enough to at least tie it, although Vancouver is a pretty happenin' team.
spndnchz Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Frasier, number one star for the 'nuks. ARSHOLee
calti Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Sabres losing in the third period seems to be a trend in recent games...they need to get it fixed and fixed fast... they are starting to look like the 08 and 09 teams
CallawaySabres Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Thanks for wasting another 2 hours of my sleep you !#%#!
spndnchz Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 they are starting to look like the 08 and 09 teams Shut yo' mouth!

Two or less Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Enjoy the giant debt from the Olympics, you Vancouver ######.

Frazier gave the goal right back to the Sabres with the phantom elbow call so enough of the blame game. Sabres lose again, end of story and a terrible road trip.
spndnchz Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 ok sorry....(its true tho) This team is nothin' like '08-'09.
darksabre Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 When Adam Mair is your star player, you're doing something wrong.

CallawaySabres Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Did he give us a goal too! I din't see that on the scoreboard! Printing my ripped off banner as we speak. Yes, he gave Buffalo the power play which tied the game up.
Two or less Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 they are starting to look like the 08 and 09 teams They are? Besides the first 10 minutes vs. the Ducks they totally out played them, just couldn't get through their ultra defensive trap defense they played for the final 30 minutes. They outplayed San Jose. When SJ scored the goal-ahead goal, shots were 34-14 Sabres. They controlled the play, they out skated them and had more chances. They just couldn't finish. And they played head to head against Vancouver, got robbed of a goal and were scored on a absolute world class play by Daniel Sedin. They got 0 points from games they played great in. They play like they did vs. SJ, Van and in the final 50 min vs. Ducks, they would beat 90% of the league. Lindy wanted 9 points. They got 6. They know they have work to do. Maybe in the long run it's better for them instead of thinking they are the best team in the world...
tom webster Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I actually thought they played pretty well in spite of the record. Their problem against the elite teams is they just don't get enough from their elite players. Roy has done nothing on the score sheet and was a -6 the last three games. He had a chance to put them ahead in San Jose and hit the post and had a late chance today and couldn't get his stick on it. This team will be fine if your goal is to win a round in the playoffs but I still don't see them among the top 4 to 6 teams in the league no matter what the record may end up being. The salary cap era NHL is star driven and their stars don't match up.

VansTheMans Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 We'll see how they react on Wed. At home. Against...New Jersey :death: I'll be attending the game. I'll have to down a few drinks to be entertained  God knows the neutral zone trapping Devils won't provide the entertainment.
SabresRepublic Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Montador is a -2 so far.. Thanks for the info but I can recall how you could analyze games past by checking who was on the ice when a goal is scored - that stat is NO longer available or I am looking in the wrong place! Overall, methinks the Sabres did OK on the trip! It certainly could have been a lot better points wise but we're still tops in the division and if we go .500 the rest of the way we end up with 99 points! More importantly, no injuries, teams have a healthy respect for our style of hockey. However, I think that Lalime should volunteer for periodic AHL assignments to keep fresh. Despite the almost incredible comeback (and some say that was one of the greatest Sabres losses ever) in Anaheim we lost the momentum and it ultimately slowed us down! However, I am NOT concerned about SC championship difficulties, rather I think it was a good learning excursion warmup for the stretch run. This is were we dig in - circle the wagons - whatever!!! GO BUFFALO SABRES!!!
