Crazy game. While I was watching the Sabres game last night out at a bar, the NHL network spent the better part of 2 hours on this melee. Carcillo uses Gaborik's face for a speed bag. Torts all sort of bent out of shape, but Marian did drop the gloves. So IYHO, should Carcillo have done what he did? Should the Rangers have retaliated more than sending Avery after the whole team? Thoughts?

This game was freakin' awesome. Hartnell's (i.t.) fist to Avery's face was the best.

 

Mary started throwing first after he saw that none of his 'best buds' were going to stick up for him. Rangers have no sack right now. You can't expect Carcillo to say more than once "stop it or I'm gonna kick urass".

here's what i don't get: if torts was so bent out of shape (as he appeared to be when he told that journalist to get away from him), then why didn't he do something along the lines of what lindy did after neil blindsided drury?

 

EDIT: it occurs to me that the rangers may lack the personnel to run a team?

It might be that he simply doesn't care much for Larry Brooks. They've had an encounter before:

 

If I were a coach though i'd be pissed about some goon got his sticks up on my star and then started raining fists down on him. Though, most of those punches looked like they went straight into Gaborik's visor and I don't think he was hurt at all so it didn't warrant a real response.

I can't stand that greasy little punk Carcillo, but I think he's in the right here. What, he's supposed to back down just because Gaborik can score? No way.

 

And ink, I don't think Laraque will be out of work for long at all.
