Bank of lights blew out behind Brodeur 44 seconds after 3rd goal. Marty has been nicked 3 times on just 7 SOGs

 

And they suspended or postponed the game? Is that legal? The lights are on there now even though they have called the game.

Good win...but we gave up 50 shots?! Maybe DeLuca is right when he says that the only difference between this year and the last two is Miller.

Toronto fired 50 shots on goal tonight and I'm sure some statistician knows how many others were started at the net and missed. Face it, they lead the league in BAD shots on goal.

 

Tampa put three past BRODEUR on just seven shots. It's not how many, it's quality.

These are the games that make me shake my head and wonder how deep this team will go. We won but ONLY because of Miller in the third. I swear we look like we are skating with lead weights on our feet. Toronto made it look like A 10-minute power play at even strength. We pull this crap in the playoffs and we are one-and-done.

Sorry, you don't get to say that. You declared us out of the playoffs because we only got one point in game 1 of the season... in case you forgot.

You could really tell how much the Leafs wanted this one. 50 shots, wow! Except for that atrocious PK, they win.

 

I know at this point it is redundant, but Myers is a beast. When he started skating toward the net on that first PP, even I knew exactly what was going to happen.

Not true. I just spend too much time on Two Bills Drive. I didn't realize SabreSpace has a "happy thoughts only" policy.

Speaking of UB this is not very different than UBfan.com. No complaining allowed, especially after a win. They don't allow any bitching about the basketball coach.

Yeah, I'm sure there won't be any difference between a dog day game against Toronto and a post season game. Why can't people actually enjoy ANYTHING?

Miller gets to play in the playoffs too, right? That's what they pay him for ... he's a member of the team.

Sorry, but this stuff drives me crazy ... when Ovechkin has a 3 goals and an assist and the Caps win 5-4, do people say "geez, the Caps have to help OV, they only win because of him." No, they say how no one wants to play them in the playoffs because he can win games himself. So can Miller. Why should they apologize?

They sat on a 3-goal lead against a desperate team and almost paid for it, but I didn't even think it was in Miller's top 5 as far as games stolen this season.

8. 18-0-0 with a lead after 2.

9. One point behind NJ for the lead; #1 slot in the East.

10. 16-5-4 at home. Thank god they fixed their play at home this year.

Game thoughts...

 

Good

 

- Just got home from the game and I am now 6-0 on the season

 

- Miller and Myers...OUTSTANDING!!!

 

 

Bad

 

- 50 shots against one of the worst teams in the league at home. Lindy needs to get this fixed. It is a problem.

 

- I like Lydman, but he was a trainwreck tonight.

 

- Too much 4th line tonight. 6 or 7 minutes are plenty for them.

This game can be summed up quickly. Myers and Miller, with a pinch of Connolly thrown in. Add a nice shot from Kennedy and a nice pass from Vanek, and you have a 3-2 victory. Other than that, not a game to be particularly proud about.

 

Still, 2 points is 2 points. Not every win is going to be textbook. We've won 6 in a row which is incredible, and we haven't had a zero point contest since December 23rd against Washington. In the big picture, everything is coming up roses.

 

Now let's lay the lumber on Colorado tomorrow!

1. Miller - I think he backed up his own words after some shaky games. Remember, Miller's worst = an average goalie's best.

 

7. I won't argue that point at all. But I think it's a crappy strategy.
