Sabre Dance Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 http://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie Hmm...I wondered what Darcy had in store for Paetsch. He was constantly the odd man out, though he did a creditable job this season when asked to. I wonder if they are trying to clear the decks for some other roster activity....
end the curse Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 Could be a Mair type move. Unlike Mair, though, I would guess if he clears he's headed to Portland.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Interesting ... How's that for insight? ;)
PalmTreeMafia Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Who's getting called up then? I'm guessing a winger to add a spark on offense. Gerbe?
nucci Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Who's getting called up then? I'm guessing a winger to add a spark on offense. Gerbe? Probably no one. There are 2-3 healthy scratches per game.

wonderbread Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Guess this means Kaleta is ready to go again. :) good they need a little intensity. However I have noticed JJ Pommers and Hecht "banging" a little more recently.
Patty16 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 good they need a little intensity. However I have noticed JJ Pommers and Hecht "banging" a little more recently. each other?
shrader Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Probably no one. There are 2-3 healthy scratches per game. Exactly. They'll be back to the standard of going one short of the max roster. They might as well bank a little cap space just in case (don't bother reading into this one, there is an unending list of reasons to bank space).

end the curse Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 each other? Just saw you beat me to it...nice!
carpandean Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Hope he clears. He's an experienced guy that provides serviceable depth at forward and defense. It would be nice to have him on the post-deadline expanded roster.

It would be nice to have him on the post-deadline expanded roster. On the blueline, sure, but I can't see much of any value as a forward at this point. Someone of the Mancari-Cowan-McCormick group offers just as much at this point, if they actually need to fill that role.
LabattBlue Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Maybe they are making room for Weber who is leading the AHL in +/- with a +20. Then again, it doesn't make any sense to bring him up to be the 8th defenseman.

Then again, it doesn't make any sense to bring him up to be the 8th defenseman. Already have Sekera on the pine, so I can't see them bringing up Weber to sit next to him in Paetsch's vacated seat in the press box. It won't be Ennis either, as I'm sure they want him to keep developing. My thought is either Gerbe or Mancari depending on what they plan on doing with Ellis. If they keep Ellis in the lineup they call up Mancari to fill the roll of Paetsch. If they plan to sit Ellis, then it's Gerbe who will be inserted into the lineup to take his place.
wjag Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Not good imagery. You have imagery... Delete it immediately before they find you... I'm stunned by this move. I thought having a two-way player was a real luxury on the team. I'll bet he lands on a NorthEast team, say Bahston..

Some call it a luxury, others call it a player not good enough to play either position.
LabattBlue Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Some call it a luxury, others call it a player not good enough to play either position. I had no problem with Paetsch as a #7 dman, but I hated him as a forward. Just because he is the #7 blueliner doesn't mean he should be the #13 forward.
Mbossy Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Good move. He's not a waste of money at his price, but a waste of money when he only plays 25% of the time. Why would we need to call anyone up? We don't need anyone.

I've never been the biggest Ellis fan for sure, but I thought he's been pretty good the last month or so. He rarely turns it over and does create some pressure down low in the offensive end. I know he isn't the fastest but I thought he's definetly earned his roster spot as of late.
