wjag Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Find a way to beat this team please. Ottawa won in a SO last night (scored all three SO goals on Rolly) and Boston plays today in the WC. Need to put this Atlanta team in the rearview mirror. Also please avoid letting Max score again...
JohnRobertEichel Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Interesting note on the NHL standings: "IF" the Sabres get 2 points tonight, they move into 4th place in the entire league (behind only the Sharks, Devils, and Blackhawks). Not bad for a team whose scoring lines decided not to show up this year.
Calvin Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Need to settle this Thrashers hoodoo in this new year. A strong physical performance would help, though I doubt we'll see much of that if Patty is out. Plastering Max and Kovy a couple of times as they whiz past will definitely be a step in the right direction. There's going to be a lot of trying to get down the wings, so cutting them off on the boards will be good. Score, score early, score often and we'll be off to a happy new year! Go Sabres!
bob_sauve28 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Well, if we can come from behind to beat Pittsburg we can beat this pain in the neck team. Hope Miller bounces back and has a good game, too. His GAA jumped up over 2.00 for I believe the first time this year after the last game. He is no longer leading the league.

Brodeur got beat for 5 last night. That might help.
Corp000085 Posted January 1, 2010 Author Report Posted January 1, 2010 Miller always has a strong bounce back game. Plus, the USA team will have been announced by the time the puck drops. Miller will be in the zone.
Hawk Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Hoping that the team had the good sense to be responsible with their partying last night. I'm sure the Atlanta coaches were keeping a tight reign on their players on the road. Prediction: 3 - 2 Sabres...
LabattBlue Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Atlanta is in the middle of a 7 game road trip and they have lost the first four in regulation. It would be disappointing if the Sabres didn't make it five losses in a row.

I wonder if he partied with his friends Cellino and Barnes last night :bag:
Hawk Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I wonder if he partied with his friends Cellino and Barnes last night :bag: Does everyone HATE them as much as I do??
BuffalOhio Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Does everyone HATE them as much as I do?? I hate ALL ambulance chasers. They're the reason we're such a litigious society and everything costs so much. F them.
iamdannytanner Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Does everyone HATE them as much as I do?? yes.

It would be disappointing if the Sabres didn't make it five losses in a row. True that however law of averages(e.g. a win coming) and the fact it's Atlanta and Hedberg 2 bugaboo's we've had a hard time solving still has me leary. If the Sabres do not show up in the first period we could find ourselves in a hole score wise before they know it. With that said I expect Miller to bounce back and show why he deserves an olympic berth and the rest of the team to show us why they are in first place with a well played within the system game. As entertaining as that style may be, I for one do not want us trading chances with this team since that plays to Atl's strength. Let's go Bflo show me that NJ style 3-2 win to start our new year off on the right skate.
Eric in Akron Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Does everyone HATE them as much as I do?? Maybe not hate them but I hate their practice and truly hat the popup that shows up in between whistles. I actually cringe when they come on the screen.

repster Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 They better play most of the first period on my end of the ice tonight. I haven't been to a game since November.
end the curse Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 7:30pm LETS GO BUFF-A-LO!! CLAP. CLAP. CALP-CLAP-CLAP!
darksabre Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Things I want to see tonight: -Drew Stafford continue to put in the effort. -Defensive domination of Max and Kovy. -40 shots on Hedberg. -A power-play goal. -Connolly, Roy, and Pominville going hard to the net. -Wrist shots from the point. And just because: -A Tyler Myers (breakaway) goal.
SABRESTR Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Miller's going to be excellent tonight I am sure of that. 5-0 Sabres!

wjag Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 For some reason, it seems like we lose more often than win when we outshoot the opponent. I can't remember when the last time they approached that number. Maybe October?
CallawaySabres Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 This should have shutout written all over it. Miller should be on fire after getting official announcement for the Olympics.
