shrader Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Can the Sabres pick up Brashear and Laraque team them with Grier to form the 36" of fury line? At least you didn't go more controversial and call them the 0.6 line. I could imagine getting some hate for this post.
nobody Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 At least you didn't go more controversial and call them the 0.6 line. I could imagine getting some hate for this post. Rivet would have them beat by 0.4 according the Chz.
Eleven Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 4h30 until the freeze. Thought this might need a bump for today.
LabattBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 4h30 until the freeze. Thought this might need a bump for today. I'll go out on a limb and predict that DR makes no moves today.
nfreeman Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 4h30 until the freeze. Thought this might need a bump for today. It would be very much out of character for Darcy to pull the trigger on a trade today. Still, they clearly need to do something. Maybe call up 2 or 3 guys from Portland? They could send Kennedy down, put Kaleta on IR and/or waive Paetsch to make room.

If they called up player(s) from Portland for the game tomorrow, would they then be "stuck" up here during the Olympic break instead of playing with Portland? Isn't there a roster freeze that goes into effect?

CallawaySabres Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Cullen to Ottawa for a 2nd and some dman (didn't catch name)
LabattBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I saw this referenced on another board. Who looks good on Florida? "...Thus, GM Randy Sexton has begun the process of reshaping this team in order to achieve our goals and objectives. This is a multi-step process, beginning now, ahead of the trading deadline, and continuing through the draft, free agency and training camp – so we ask that you assess our success only once this process has run its course. Unfortunately, these changes will not always be easy for our fans and supporters to accept or understand. These changes also may not be easy for our coaches, players and staff. But they are necessary. No small changes or quick fixes will do. But please note that these changes are part of an overall plan to make the best use of our current assets and set this franchise up to achieve the success we want as quickly as possible, and to maintain it." http://panthers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=517345 ...and back on the home front we get, "our players are improving and maturing and we continue to develop from within".

rbochan Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I sent Darcy a fax three weeks ago, he hasn't gotten back to me.

North Buffalo Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Cheechoo on waivers??? Might fit here... Go Darcy.
Kristian Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I sent Darcy a fax three weeks ago, he hasn't gotten back to me. Ah, the old broken fax rears it's ugly head again.

inkman Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 At the very least, could they pick up one of the waived players? Just something to shake things up.
shrader Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Cheechoo on waivers??? Might fit here... Go Darcy. He's an awful player with an even more awful contract.
spndnchz Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Cheechoo on waivers??? Might fit here... Go Darcy. He's an awful player with an even more awful contract. Tru dat. He's not even staying with the team, they won't even let him on the bus.
North Buffalo Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Tru dat. He's not even staying with the team, they won't even let him on the bus. What happened to him, thought he was a hard worker and a scorer... my memory of him is misremembered?
Mbossy Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I think Darcy does something today. Reinprecht? Poni? Enough of the build from within #%^$#!.
Mbossy Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 What happened to him, thought he was a hard worker and a scorer... my memory of him is misremembered? He's been on the decline since 05-06.
shrader Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 He's been on the decline since 05-06. And since this is professional sports, we might as well just assume he pulled the needle out of his arm.
nucci Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 What happened to him, thought he was a hard worker and a scorer... my memory of him is misremembered? Got his big contract. Most pros lose their motivation once they get their fortune.
