wjag Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 5 on 4 with and empty net. Staal and Gaustad in the box.. 23 seconds left
SABRESTR Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 is the referee totally blind or what
wjag Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 9 seconds. Draw deep in Buffalo.. 9 seconds for a STATEMENT WIN..
sabresnutinphoenix Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Should be a penalty on the pens...
wjag Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 STATEMENT WIN!!!! STATEMENT WIN!!!! STATEMENT WIN!!!! did I mention STATEMENT WIN
K-9 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Wow! I was an RCH from turning this game off when we got down 3-0 but I'm glad I didn't. Lalime was HUGE! Something more to build on. The 'Guins have some issues. GO SABRES!!!
wjag Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 The Sabres even won with Shrader in the house...
bob_sauve28 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Wow, what a great win. This team is really fun to watch
repster Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 How many more times are they going to show up sleepwalking through the first period? They looked like they were skating in quicksand. I'm glad Miller was pissed because he should have been. The Sabres havehad no business winning this game. I'll be happy if they do, but they play early like they have no heart at all. I really feel bad for the fans at the game to have to sit through a first period like that. To be behind by only one goal is beyond belief and kudos to Lalime for coming to the rescue and keeping this sorry bunch in the game. It's really hard to believe lately that we are a first place team. Most opponents looks quicker to the puck - like we're out of shape or don't have the hustle. It was there in the beginning of the year, but they look like a shadow of their former selves. I guess that's why they play the game - you never know how it will turn out in the end, and this team can look like crap one minute and then turn it on and get the win. Teams like Ottawa, Pittsburgh and Atlanta don't have the same comeback karma for Buffalo like Toronto, Montreal or any Western conference team does though.
bob_sauve28 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Now do you believe? I'm startin to get there!
matter2003 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Man....that was really something...Pittsburgh just completely went away and acted like they had no interest in even playing anymore after Buffalo started just laying the lumber on them physically...when was the last time we talked about a Sabres team being physical? So much for the Sabres not being able to hang with the Pens...
wjag Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 What hasn't been said also was that Buffalo played very well against Malkin and Crosby.
JJFIVEOH Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Bench Miller for a week. His tantrum is uncalled for from a team leader. Lalime has proven the last month he can still play and the team seems to play better with him in net lately. Let Miller think about it for a few games watching from the bench.

Rip Titwide Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Ruff pulling all the right triggers lately.....
Calvin Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 wow, that must have been a helluva game to be at!! shrader.. you lucky bum!! fantastic job by Lalime. after the Caps game and today, maybe Miller is getting tired of bailing out this team five (isn't it?) consecutive first periods. with Lalime being on the hot form he is, does it make sense giving Miller a couple of games off to regain his zen zone? as Rob Ray commented in the beginning, that even Ruff had told him that he was just looking to get through the first period somehow - the Sabres first period woes are well-documented and the team hasn't worked out a solution to it yet. excellent grit and effort in the second and third periods. really reminds me of the first few games in the season when we would dominate and score in the first and sometimes second periods, and then grind it out in the last period. we just need to get those hot starts back again. kudos for the effort in the second half of the game, shame on the boys for the first half though.

Knightrider Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 That may have been the most fun game I've seen since Briere and Drury left! Talk about a confidence builder! Hecht seemed like the Hecht of old tonight. Mouse Potato!! You're gonna be good when you grow up... What a game!
