end the curse Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 We'd face Ottawa in the first round.
Calvin Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 We'd face Ottawa in the first round. well, no better time than the playoffs to get rid of the hoodoo that started in the playoffs anyways
nucci Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 We'd face Ottawa in the first round. but the season does not end today.
Stoner Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Sabres in five. No doubt in my mind. Post-lockout, these teams are pretty even, but Buffalo is clearly the better team this season. Maybe Ottawa gets up for these games more than Buffalo does, I don't know. Ottawa's record in these games sure isn't indicative of what kind of team they are. When the games have really counted, post-lockout, each team is 5-5. Half of those games went to overtime. The two series easily could have been flipped. I fear no Beaver Tail in April.
repster Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Atlanta could be a possibility as well. I don't like that matchup either. We'll see Friday if they have the same issues they seem to get with Ottawa. I'll be at the game - first one in over a month.

If I had to pick two teams that come to mind that own the Sabres they would be Atlanta and Ottawa.
end the curse Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 If I had to pick two teams that come to mind that own the Sabres they would be Atlanta and Ottawa. I agree but would reverse the order. Ottawa has flat owned us deeper and more consistently, over a much longer period of time, than Atlanta. Before this season, Detroit owned us, too, but we managed to vanquish that demon early on. Seems the Ottawa hex ain't going anywhere anytime soon, but unlike the #%^$#!ing Sens we've played very well in most of the Atlanta defeats, so I think the odds are pretty good we can squash that pesky run of bad luck on New Years Day.
BuffaloBill Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Time to put this demon to rest. Only way to get past it is to win ... just win baby.
Sabre Dance Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 If the season ended today, maybe the Finals would be over by April.... :D
static70 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 If Buffalo faces any of the following teams come playoff time, they will not win. This team is not ready. Here is the list and its a realistic list. Ottawa Atlanta New Jersey Pittsburg Washington Pretty much puts anything but a round 1 loosing series for Buffalo. Each one of those teams listed are more than capable of handling the Sabres with its current roster. Miller may take a game or 2 but in the end, the results will be sad.

Turn off your TV... It will be less painful for you that way.
