SwampD Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Can someone please end Kovalev's career?
SABRESTR Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Miller's gonna win it for us in shoot out :)
SABRESTR Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 oh for god's sake, when are we gonna beat these morons
Calvin Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 i am speechless yet again. am almost ashamed to say this, but at least we got a point against the Sens.
Stoner Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Ruff's not rewarded for a vote of confidence in Miller. A very just outcome. As Lindy will probably say in his presser, you don't deserve to win a game the way they played in the first -- and frankly for a lot of the rest of the night.

It was a fun game, and I know it's not the end of the world because we lost to a team that owns us,.. it happens, but I am SOOOOO ready to not see Lindy Ruff as our coach.

Not to pile on... yeah, to pile on... I was watching the Making of the Winter Classic, and between periods, Ruff was miked up. He was preaching going to the net, driving the far post, getting rebounds, scoring ugly, even just putting the puck behind the net if there was no lane. Man, that message has to be getting old. Sabres continue to be streaky. Four wins in a row have been followed by four losses in six games. The division is getting tight now.
BADMOFO518 Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 soooo.... their offense is soooooo anemic they didnt get but one measly shot on goal recorded in the first...and not one shot hit the net in THE SHOOTOUT!!!!!!!!! am i the only one that noted that????? WTF SOMEONE SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!!!!

SwampD Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Eat The Skill's contract. He is POISON. It's time to get rid of him. Whatever amount of money we have to eat will be worth it. We will never win with him on our team. It's time.
SabresRepublic Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Ottawa has done a lot of complaining about not getting calls from the ref. They've gone three games this year where they weren't awarded a PP. I'm not surprised. Still, the boo was for the poor play IMO. Undue influence? The officiating left a lot to be desired. Anyway, happy with the point; unhappy with the loss! It almost seemed like the Sabres were suffering from some kind of poisonong that affected their minds! In two consecutive games we get beat by the political establishment of North America. I was talking to my brother after the second period and I told him that we got beat by the American politicians (Caps) but there's NO way the Canadian politicians (Sens) are going to beat us! Wrong!!! Vanek played a great game. Methinks Myers and Talinder costed us this game despite the other tangibles!
SwampD Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I still thought it was a fun game. Man, I wish Mair had Connolly's skill (or Connolly had Mair's heart)
JohnRobertEichel Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Playing against a hated division rival, at home, with 70 hours of rest, against a team that's been hit with the injury bug...and you get outshot 41-22?! Miller has got to be reaching a breaking point with his worthless teammates. Connolly and Stafford...WTF!?
Stoner Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Who had the rundown of serious injuries we suffer against Ottawa? I hope we don't have to add Roy to the list.

Does the moderator of this board have the ability to turn emoticons on/off for a member or is it something in my settings? They used to be there - not anymore! I can see others' emoticons but NOT mine! Based on the fact that they used to be there and I can see others' hints at some moderator slave acting like a slave - you think?
shrader Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Who had the rundown of serious injuries we suffer against Ottawa? I hope we don't have to add Roy to the list. A prime example of the kind of hits that need to go. He had Roy lined up, but circled to the side slightly so he could take the head shot. Sure, Roy's height factored in on it, but that was an intentional hit to the head. It was as clear as day.

That hit exemplifies Ottawa's approach to playing the Sabres. Hit to maime and destroy!
ParkMeadow Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Didn't see this game but didn't have to, I can tell from the box score pretty much how it went. Took my 25 y.o. son who is visiting "home" from Buffalo to every so-called Sports Bar in Manchester, NH and couldn't find a single one that had the NHL Home Ice package. We settled for a bar called Johnny Badd's, where at least the cute bartender had nice assets, and had a great visit while watching the ESPN News scores and his Droid phone for updates. When we saw that the Sabres had only ONE shot on goal during the first period, we figured that like in the Capitals game (and others with a similar motif), the Sabres would blitz them in the second with twenty or so shots and Millsie would stand on his head and they'd have the lead quickly. Of course, we said "WTF" when the Sens were up, 2-0, but when it was tied after two, we figured it was as good as won. Then again the SOG numbers told us they played for the point in the third, and hoped to win in OT. When we saw it was going to the SO, I said we are screwed, because even if Miller stones them, we cannot score in the shootout. I hate it when I'm right because this team is so predictable! So, it leaves us still in first place in the division, but also leaves most of us with the unsettling feeling that this is only a temporary position. When the Bruins get Lucic back and settle on Rask as their #1 goalie, they will charge hard and we will likely drop back, given our inability to beat the teams we have to. At this point, I think just making the playoffs will be a major accomplishment. PM
carpandean Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Roy out for at least tomorrow's game.

As Lindy will probably say in his presser, you don't deserve to win a game the way they played in the first -- and frankly for a lot of the rest of the night. You can only rely on a hot goalie for so long. Did Miller even see a shot in the OT? Too many things fell apart at the end of the game. Ruff'd decision to shoot second, Vanek coming close but not burying, Miller whiffing on Fisher, TC with ANOTHER worthless shootout chance.
FogBat Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I still thought it was a fun game. Man, I wish Mair had Connolly's skill (or Connolly had Mair's heart) "Weeeeeeeeeeee'rrrrre off/to see/the Wizard. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!"
