DR HOLLIDAY Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 As a stafford supporter, I too must say he has been very Hecht like lately. He has been good on defense but for a top 6, he should be doing more on the O side of things. Stafford is still on the Sabres?............
LabattBlue Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 Seems like most of you are game to just toss away everybody except Miller, Myers, Grier and Kaleta. ...and Kennedy! ;)
LabattBlue Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 I don't see the problem with Patches, either. When he's been in, he hasn't sucked. That dude has it as bad as Lalime. I have no problem with Paetsch as a #7 on the blueline, I just don't want to see him playing forward.
Foligno's Nose Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Man, looking at those lines, it really tells an ugly story about the "top-6" guys so far this season. At at some point, I don't see how they can avoid adressing the apparent lack of production/chemistry, whatever it may be. I have really liked the way that the Vanek-Kennedy-Grier line has played, when together. Vanek does not seem to have much chemistry with Roy or Connolly. If there is, it fades quickly. Kennedy may be ready to accept the role as a top six center. See what Roy can do on the wing of Connolly and Stafford/ The General/ Pominville. Or trade him. I am not happy with his game for the most part. I know he is one of our top scorers, but he has no upside anymore. I always thought he was great on the wing with Drury and Grier in 05-06 but never advanced his game from there. The Bastard will probably score a hat trick tonight. (wishful thinking)
Foligno's Nose Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Excuse my backtracking here: This looks like an interesting combo: Clarke MacArthur-Tim Kennedy-Jason Pominville. Kennedy is a sparkplug. I would have put the lines together like this though: Tim Connolly-Tim Kennedy-Mike Grier Clarke MacArthur-Derek Roy-Jason Pominville Jochen Hecht-Paul Gaustad-Drew Stafford Paetsch-Matt Ellis-Adam Mair Kennedy and Grier should stay together.
Foligno's Nose Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Portland has been playing well as of late and we do not want to upset their chemistry. I am pretty sure that this would not be a concern. It would be a TS situation, The Pirates team chemistry with their roster woulsd be a luxury for them or any AHL team. So much player movement, sop many call-ups, unknowns... Scrap all this if you were being sarcastic.
ROC Sabres Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Stafford is still on the Sabres?............ I'll also drink to that.
Stoner Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Remind me to put Garth on my #%^$#! list.
ROC Sabres Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Remind me to put Garth on my #%^$#! list. Put Garth on your #%^$#! list... ;)
repster Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Remind me to put Garth on my #%^$#! list. His "prediction" was surprising the other day. Another reason that website should always remain anonymous...
wjag Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Miller run into twice in the first three minutes
wjag Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Lucky bounce.. Paetsch through the legs... Got to love 4th line goals... Buffalo: :worthy: Toronto:
Foligno's Nose Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Shoot Timmy! shoot! Good Boy! Miller can deny it all day long. He really wants to impress upon Burke/ Wilson in these Leaf games. No doubt. Somebody will need to address the running soon. Monty? Craigie? Somebody? Wait... Patchy!!!
repster Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Buffalo and Toronto is like Ottawa and Buffalo...it just never changes
LabattBlue Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Posted December 22, 2009 I have no problem with Paetsch as a #7 on the blueline, I just don't want to see him playing forward. Figures that the guy I decide to call out, scores the first goal of the game.
ROC Sabres Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Buffalo and Toronto is like Ottawa and Buffalo...it just never changes Only difference is Toronto wins every now and then... see what I did there?
Assquatch Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I share your frustration with TC and Pommer, but if Hecht is the answer, we're all doomed. His hands are marginally better than a dead man's. The dead-man's-hand. That move is good for a change of pace.
Foligno's Nose Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Not a bad PP. Like the rotation and movement. Roy did not aggravate me this time.
ROC Sabres Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 You can tell from the goal cam that they didn't show how close they were to scoring. Let me know when that video shows up on youtube. Prolly sooner than on versus.
wjag Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Fast moving period... Liked the Sabres play.. Never really felt threatened by the Leafs except for the shorty try...
ROC Sabres Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 What's pommers doin taking a shot from the left side of the rink???
wjag Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 What's pommers doin taking a shot from the left side of the rink??? He probably reads the thread and knows we dog him for shooting from the right dot..
Calvin Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 You can tell from the goal cam that they didn't show how close they were to scoring. Let me know when that video shows up on youtube. Prolly sooner than on versus. Damn! That did hit the crossbar! Just walked in the front door and saw Mair get that off the pipes! What did I miss? How are we playing? Just saw Patches goal.. it's all good! :nana:
