ROC Sabres Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Wow, that was beautiful! Should put him in for the shootout sometime.
SwampD Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 WOW!... These refs are doing everything they can to help the Rags.
Stoner Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 WOW!... These refs are doing everything they can to help the Rags. Now, come on. :)
SwampD Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Now, come on. :) Up to that point it was true, but that crosschecking call on Kotalik kinda evened things up. I just don't understand how that play where Vanek was lifted up and thrown into the boards wasn't a penalty. AND MSG had the gall to show it again and say how it was textbook positional hockey. Oh well,.. if you're complaining about the refs then you've already lost.
ROC Sabres Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Pommers about a 1/2 an inch off on that one. :wallbash:
ROC Sabres Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I really like how tallinder and vanek were semi-boarded in the last 10 seconds. :censored:
matter2003 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Sabres go in lockdown mode again and its over... Now I know how frustrating it must to play against NJ when they have a 1 goal lead in the 3rd...basically the other team spends all this time in your end, but accomplishes next to nothing. They get these great setups but have shots either blocked or deflected away. They cycle the puck only to have it end up in a turnover after about 30 seconds of them doing really not much of anything. Then they actually get a shot to Miller but its from a horrible angle or from so far away it has no prayer of going in. The Sabres then just dump it out to center or just get the puck and dump into the opposition zone. Rinse and repeat. Pretty nice to watch and just know the other team isn't gonna score...

When you're finishing a check that started well away from the boards, and a player is checked into the boards, is that still boarding? Yeah, it is! I wonder about that icing on the Rangers midway through the third. Didn't Miller play the puck?

Stoner Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Guess who led the Sabres in faceoff win percentage tonight? Timbo!
Stoner Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Definitely not boarding, but surely interference. Who cares! Great win! I'll give Ruff a pat on the back for excellent use of his so-called fourth line. He knew the Sabres would need a big energy drink tonight and those guys provided it.
SwampD Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 As good as Miller was, they have to give the first star to Kaleta.
FogBat Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Well, what can I say? wjag was proven right again. The Rangers didn't deserve to win tonight because they had a shortie scored against them. It's  :30 now. EDIT: BTW, look at my latest post about Flyers fire Stevens. There's been a signing over at Broad Street Beavers land.
wjag Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Watched midway thru third on. Very, very nice win tonight. How can you not love this team?
Figster Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Watched midway thru third on. Very, very nice win tonight. How can you not love this team? As long as Lindy lights a fire under their collective buns each and every night these guys are good and can go a long ways in my opinion. Kaleta deserves some recognition because man does this kid play hard, I haven't seen play like his since Vasclav Verada, he's a bruiser.
nobody Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 That was a nice set of games by the boys.
CallawaySabres Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Very SOLID win tonight for a team that could have easily lived on memories of past 2 games. This is certainly a sign of a different team. I love beating the rangers more than ANY other team in the league (including Ottawa) and that says a lot. Love IT!
Derrico Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Watched midway thru third on. Very, very nice win tonight. How can you not love this team? HAHAHHAHAH, this board is so predictable.... Two weeks ago everyone and their grandmother was jumping all over them saying how they were the same team as the past two years blah blah blah....Please, everyone on this board.....just remember that this team is different this year. Every team in this league plays poorly for two or three games in a row occasionally.... On a side note, holy $hit, Myers isn't only the real deal, he's already the real deal in his rookie year. Another great game by the big guy.

carpandean Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Myers looks really tired out there. He won't be leading in ice time tonight. Oh yeah? 24:39, edging Roy (22:30) by 2:09 and the next defenseman, Tallinder (21:49), by 2:50. :nana: Solid win tonight. This team looks ugly at times, but for the most part effectively grinds through games. Definitely not the flashy team that we saw in 2006-07, but pretty darn effective. Anyone catch the MSG Hockey Night Live discussion? First, they talked about how Kotalik is being asked to be something he's never shown that he can be, a true power forward. Well, duh. They said the Rangers should just rely on him as a PP specialist. We could have told them that. Later, they were talking about Marty Biron and Butch Goring said that he will probably end up back in Buffalo. Ken Daneyko (who I always think looks like Rob Ray's twin brother) responded that Lalime played a great game against Chicago, so he wasn't so sure. Boy, I hope Lalime gets another start or two before Biron hits the market, so that we can see if he can keep that up or will revert to form. Edit: did anyone mention the questionable choice by Mancari to choose #12? Too much of a similarity with that #'s previous owner and Mark should definitely want to differentiate himself from big Al.
Calvin Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 just finished watching the replay on Center Ice excellent effort by the boys.. looked tight for long periods and once again they failed to seal it despite numerous chances in the third, but i'm not going to nitpick, not on a day Kaleta scored a shortie! keep up the momentum.. Go Sabres!!

Go Sabres!! And that whole play pretty much sums up why I'm so happy Kotalik's a Ranger these days. He gets burned at the point, and completely refuses to backcheck. Al's so far behind Kaleta he's in no position to swat away a possible rebound, or put his stick on Kaleta, even if Lundy makes the initial save. Lazy, lazy player. Also, I find it downright scary how much Drury's game has gone south in only two years. Wow....
