Ted's Hot Dogs Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 I was watching the game on TV so I did'nt get a great hear.. But, it seemed like everytime kane touched the puck there were some Boo's. Wow he must feel disgusted that he is getting boo'ed, I would feel so ashamed
mercury Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 But, it seemed like everytime kane touched the puck there were some Boo's. Indeed.
wjag Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Came through loud and clear.. He was the most dynamic player on the ice last night.. So how does a Buffalo crowd treat one of its own??
Eleven Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Came through loud and clear.. He was the most dynamic player on the ice last night.. So how does a Buffalo crowd treat one of its own?? It must be connected to the cab incident, right? We don't normally boo locals who play for other teams.
Stoner Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 This guy continues to come off prickishly. He noted that some of the signs weren't too "bright." Well... He also made a point to talk about giving "five grand" to the Food Bank. Who says "grand"? And who publicizes his own charity work? He deserved the boos, but as Brian Koziol said, the crowd also needs to start cheering for the Sabres. I think Brian hears the same thing I hear with this crowd. Of course, Brian also TWICE wondered if Lindy would play Lalime again tonight after SHUTTING OUT the Hawks. It was funny. Brian's excellent though.
sjb012 Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 It must be connected to the cab incident, right? We don't normally boo locals who play for other teams. Flat out disgraceful. This kid is arguably the most prolific athlete to come out of Buffalo. He made a mistake, mind you, with a thug of a cousin who probably was the bully in the situation and we decide to downpour on our own with boos and retarded posters? Patty is a guy who still LOVES THE CITY OF BUFFALO! During the day yesterday, he spent his time making a large donation to the Buffalo Food Drive and dining in our economically challenged city. He made a big mistake hanging out with a problem child on Chippewa. Next time our star comes to town, use your brains Sabres fans. On a lighter note, what an effort by the Blue and Gold in the last two tilts! My two picks to go to the cup in the East and West roasted in the HSBC...awesome!

PA, Totally agree with our crowd needing to get behind our team. Our crowd noise has been AWFUL this year. No chants, no serenades of opposing tenders...what gives faithful???

Stoner Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 :wallbash: Last night was loud AND there were chants. You guys hear what you want to hear. Brian Koziol was in the building. You weren't. How bad does it have to be for the Sabres-sanctioned broadcast to start calling out the fans? I think there was one sequence where there were some in-play LGB chants. Some dude or dudette started it with a chirping whistle. Came through loud and clear, which contradicts the bad audio/bad mic theory.
wjag Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 You could hear the crowd at times last night. I'd give them a 'better than most nights' credit.
sjb012 Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 You could hear the crowd at times last night. I'd give them a 'better than most nights' credit. Which is sad. The HSBC should be like a Calgary to roll into, instead it reminds me more of a talkative middle school before an assembly begins! When I watch the Calgary games I have said out loud many times "wow, that atmosphere is intimidating!" I live in Maryland, go to the Buffalo games in DC and have season tickets in the HSBC. BY FAR, the Sabres crowd down here gets louder and rowdier at the Sabres games in the Verizon.

If HSBC got that loud the same people would be on here complaining that Sabres fans need to just settle down,.. it's just a game,.. don't yell shoot on the powerplay,.. can't you just sit and watch a game in peace like me,.. You can't have it both ways. You can't complain about fans acting like idiots (which is an issue on here all the time) and then complain about fans sitting on their hands.

But, it seemed like everytime kane touched the puck there were some Boo's. Wow he must feel disgusted that he is getting boo'ed, I would feel so ashamed While I doubt that Patrick Kane or his family would ever be reading this, I would like to personally apologize to them for being "booed in Buffalo". As I am sure they are aware, Buffalonians are generally warm, proud, and close-knit... with maybe a little bit of an edge. I think that "edge" was going a little overboard last night. I truly believe that the Buffalo area and especially the WNY hockey community are very proud that Pat Kane grew up in this town and became a star in the NHL. And I believe the actions of a group of people last night gave viewers across the country the wrong impression about Buffalo and it's hockey fans. Daniel Briere being booed, in spite of wanting to stay and not being offered a contract is bad enough, but a Buffalo-kid getting booed when he no doubt would have been the happiest kid on earth if drafted by the Sabres originally, is taking it too far.

WTF are you talking about? They are booing over the cabbie incident. That's it. They aren't booing because he's playing for another team. When people forgive him for that incident, the boos will stop.
LabattBlue Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 I thought it was uncalled for and I referred to the fans as morons in the GDT, but to each their own.
shrader Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 WTF are you talking about? They are booing over the cabbie incident. That's it. They aren't booing because he's playing for another team. When people forgive him for that incident, the boos will stop. And being from Buffalo, they know exactly what the fans of this area are like. They'd have to be idiots to take it seriously.
wjag Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 http://angryflower.com/bobsqu.gif I believe my usage was correct. I wasn't showing possession but rather delineating a phrase. Did you miss the first one? Or was your point that even as written, it's still incorrect?

They aren't booing because he's playing for another team. When people forgive him for that incident, the boos will stop. Ummmm, WHAT? If they ARE booing for that reason, the city of Buffalo made itself look even MORE moronic than I thought they did. SO, the city has decided it can judge the kid now, too? How many of the "boobirds" were there to witness the "cabby incident"? What a joke. (But I'm sure you're right)
Two or less Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 WTF are you talking about? They are booing over the cabbie incident. That's it. They aren't booing because he's playing for another team. When people forgive him for that incident, the boos will stop. Exactly. Who cares about Patrick Kane's feelings? The guy was a total scum bag in our city and he gave us a black eye for it and this was his first game back, of course they were gonna do. I liked it to be honest. He doesn't walk on water. Just because he is from Buffalo doesn't make him a god of Buffalo. He wouldn't have been boooed if he didn't act like an ass when he returned.

At least he had the good sense to $#!t in his own back yard. Because he's from Buffalo and it happened in Buffalo, the rest of the country couldn't care less (not that I give a hoot about what the rest of the country thinks anyway).

On a lighter note, what an effort by the Blue and Gold in the last two tilts! My two picks to go to the cup in the East and West roasted in the HSBC...awesome! Sorry misses Kane for Booing your son How do you know that its the cousin thats the bully in the situation? Just because he is a good athlete, why does that mean he is the innocent one hanging out with a thug? It happens alot where the rich, good athlete guy is the guy who instigates the trouble because they have the money and the fame and think they deserve everything just because of who they are. You do know that most of the teams that come here spend time dining there when they come to the economically challenged city, and a larger percentage of all athletes make donations to food banks and other charities in their home towns and the towns they play in, its not always a sign of them being such great human beings with big hearts, sometimes its for tax purposes due to the large salaries they get to "become heros and role models" by playing a game
SarasotaSabre Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 yes, you heard boos ... not boo's - I was watching the game on TV so I did'nt get a great hear.. Well, it did make the front page of the Chicago Tribune. And that's a city with "real news." But I don't think anyone outside of Buffalo cares now.

Boo him this once for the cabbie thuggary, but next year or so when he's back here, cheer the local, now NHL talent on! Its a cheer for Buffalo, NY.
