spndnchz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I thought it was the crooked eyes. When did they change the book? Dammit, someone get me that book. :) Maybe that's what he means about tinkering the system to fit his game ... they adjusted for the eyes.
inkman Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 :) Maybe that's what he means about tinkering the system to fit his game ... they adjusted for the eyes. They tilted the ice? :D
shack & duff Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Anybody who expects the Sabres to win the Cup this year raise your hand. I thought so. Enjoy the ride while they're doing well. If they make the play-offs it'll mean Ryan did well this year.
FogBat Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 People (like Harry last night, and Regier before him) are starting to say it out loud. Miller is playing like his hair's on fire because it's an Olympic year. Ryan's not going to tell Lindy he's tired. He wants every game, and when he's not getting a lot of shots, he'll be upset like he was very early in the season. IIRC, Miller didn't make the US Olympic Team in 2006, but John Grahame (whose head coach at the time was Peter Laviolette and who also who coached Team USA) and Robert Esche did (also, IIRC) - who are now nowhere to be seen in the NHL.
Rox11 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Exactly ... if they are going to pay him like Kipper and Nabokov and Lundqvist and Brodeur, he needs their workload. If you have a 55-game goalie, you don't pay him like one of those guys. He says he wants to be at that level, it's on him to prepare and make sure he can handle it. It's not their responsibility to baby him. Whatever the case, you can always tell the Sabres are in first place (or pretty close) when the backup goalie debate pops up ... so I take all this as a good thing even if my thesis is wrong and Lindy just sucks at handling backups. I hope we have this discussion 3 times a season. You're posts are definitely some of the best, most insightful I've read here.
