wjag Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 As part of my game thoughts, I was going to put in a sentence about Butler having one of those games where you don't notice him good or bad. I just now read that he left the game in the 1st period with a ankle sprain. Often they look worse than they are, but it looked really bad. Hoping it was a sprain.
Calvin Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 - Sekera showed some nice dash to his game. If he can be more consistent in this regard, it would really help the offense. Sekera is showing himself to be quite effective as an emergency forward as well as a good D-man.. does this mean Paetsch becomes expendable now? What kind of value would he have in the trade market?
Stoner Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Sekera is showing himself to be quite effective as an emergency forward as well as a good D-man.. does this mean Paetsch becomes expendable now? What kind of value would he have in the trade market? Why would you want to get rid of defensive depth? It's going to be needed. Sabres d-men tend to drop like flies. Rivet is a house of cards. If I think of any more clichés, I'll be sure to edit this post.

What kind of value would he have in the trade market? No he's not expendable because his trade value is next to nothing. After that Carolina series a few years back I'm never going to just ship off dmen for next to nothing. You never know when we'll need the depth....
korab rules Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Sekera is showing himself to be quite effective as an emergency forward as well as a good D-man.. does this mean Paetsch becomes expendable now? What kind of value would he have in the trade market? He would have zero value on the trade market, maybe you would get a 7th round pick for him near the trade deadline. Those types of guys always have more value to the team they are on then any of the other teams.

What kind of value would he have in the trade market? This post and watching the game again this morning reminded me of a funny occurrence last night: shortly after Butler went to the locker room (not the funny part), Sekera was coming off the ice and went to the door at the forward end of the bench, reaching his hand out to push it open once someone hit the latch. When nobody opened the door, you see him look up at Lindy and then head down to the door by all of the defensemen.

spndnchz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Anybody see Miller yelling after the second goal? Something like "Come on let's get f'in going"
... Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Anybody see Miller yelling after the second goal? Something like "Come on let's get f'in going" I caught that. It's obviously difficult to tell when he's talking back there, but this still seemed out of character for him. It was great to see him dishing out the "orders".
Stoner Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 So is "Canadiens" pronounced like "Canadians" or is the "ens" emphasized? Rick was saying Canadi-ENS last night and it blew my mind.
ROC Sabres Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 - Nice to see Kennedy get rewarded on the score sheet. I continue to be impressed by his willingness to take the body and it just reinforces my belief that playing physical has nothing to do with how tall you are or how much you weigh. It's all about WANTING to do it. That has a missing sexual harassment joke in the worst way.
Derrico Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 So is "Canadiens" pronounced like "Canadians" or is the "ens" emphasized? Rick was saying Canadi-ENS last night and it blew my mind. Rick was pronouncing it correctly. It's Canadi-ens....
inkman Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 As the Habs fans started to exit the building with 5 minutes in the third, I got my 300 section to chant "HABS GO HOME, HABS GO HOME". Am I the only one that thinks that is kind of a dick move?
Eleven Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Am I the only one that thinks that is kind of a dick move? I'm assuming it was like most Montreal games, where our home crowd had to deal with their crappy French chanting, in which case, I don't think it's a dick move at all. I've participated in similar chants at Leaves games.
Eleven Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 So is "Canadiens" pronounced like "Canadians" or is the "ens" emphasized? Rick was saying Canadi-ENS last night and it blew my mind. Rick always pronounces it that way. How did this blow your mind?
spndnchz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Am I the only one that thinks that is kind of a dick move? Nope. Some of the best at the games against the Leafs or Habs are: "Why u leaving so soon? Your team still has 2 minutes to get 5 goals" "Blow Leafs Blow" "Your team is so much better with Spacek" "Shut -up, shutup shutup shut-up"
Stoner Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Rick always pronounces it that way. How did this blow your mind? I guess I never noticed.
Stoner Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Am I the only one that thinks that is kind of a dick move? Buffalo fans are always irritated at fans who actually cheer and chant for their team.
spndnchz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Buffalo fans are always irritated at fans who actually cheer and chant for their team. Now there's a dick move for ya. Speaking of dick moves, anyone read Bucky's article this morning? Talking about how bad the Habs are because they blew up their team when only a few tweaks were needed. And how the Sabres did the right thing by not doing the same? Is this Bucky's alter ego talking? Who was the guy that was looking for blood all off season? Is this your apology Bucky? I'm not sure if I accept.
Eleven Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I guess I never noticed. So now I have my "second shooter" theory: it's either MSG's sound or PA's ears.

Thought about sending him an e-mail but didn't bother.
shrader Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Buffalo fans are always irritated at fans who actually cheer and chant for their team. And all those complaints from fans from teams like Carolina when we take over their building? It's kind of funny reading posts complaining about opposing fans in our building after all the negativity we've seen in here in response to those Hurricane fans.
spndnchz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 You would know about dick moves. After all, you made yours disappear. I have made a few disappear, but those stories r4 another day
BetweenThePipes00 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I have made a few disappear, but those stories r4 another day LOL ... PA, you gotta stop setting her up for these things. Or not.
