Hawerchuk Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I knew it was a good move, trading him awhile back.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 He went full retard on that one, even takes a second swing.........
That Aud Smell Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 i did see that. beyond bizarre.
Stoner Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 WOW! I hadn't even noticed the second swing! That changes my feelings about Ballard, to be honest.
wonderbread Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 The hits to the head in this league must be stopped.
wjag Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I don't know what everyone is so upset about. We need more players to hold their goalie accountable when they give up goals. He should be wearing the 'C' after that. Maybe Valkoun will try harder next time. Nothing to see here.. Move on..
Corp000085 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 He went full retard on that one, even takes a second swing......... 2001. Sean Penn. I Am Sam. Nobody liked that movie.

Guest Sloth Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I also didn't see the second swing. I didn't notice it until the no hockey network called ESPN aired a replay of it. Ballard had to realize he didn't hit a post on his first swing. The guy should've been trying to help Vokoun as soon as he went down. Instead, Ballard skated off and watched from the other side of the rink. Loser...

You can't blame Ballard for that.
Ohiofan Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 WOW. What a total jerk...second swing...skating away...SKATING AWAY! How the hell did he do that? How do you not check on your team mate after that? Sheesh.
ROC Sabres Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 The hits to the head in this league must be stopped. And there was obviously intent to injure since he took that second swing to make sure he got it. Give him a 5 game suspension!!!

theesir Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I thought Vokoun played that like a big baby. I'm not kidding. He got CLIPPED with the stick and got what? 2-3 stitches. He was thrashing around on the ice like my 11 year old after he smashes his knee on a dresser or something like that. AND THEN A STRETCHER!!!! Come on! Like a girl he was touching his ear and looking to see if there was blood. I mean it sucks that he got hit an all, but that swing made it LOOK worse than the result actually was. MAN UP!
shrader Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 What if... what if... that was no accident? I'm juss sayin'. But if you watch the video really closely, you'll notice that Vokoun falls in an awkward direction. It doesn't add up. There had to be a second stick swinger hiding in the blue paint.
Mbossy Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Must have played whack a mole as a kid.
That Aud Smell Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 The hits to the head in this league must be stopped. +1
ROC Sabres Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Must have played whack a mole as a kid. I'm sure he had high score judging from his performance the other day.
rbochan Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Vokoun should have seen it coming and not put himself in such a vulnerable position.
Sabre Dance Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 But if you watch the video really closely, you'll notice that Vokoun falls in an awkward direction. It doesn't add up. There had to be a second stick swinger hiding in the blue paint. He did fall back and to the left. Next step is to form the Bettman Commission who will say that Vokoun's injury resulted from the "magic puck". It bounced off Vokoun's pads, hit him in the head and then made the back of the net bulge before coming to rest. (And, less than 3 grams of rubber was missing from the puck!) F. Lee Harvey Ballard
Stoner Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 What did his wife reach for and grab on the back of the net? This really never gets old...

He was trying to draw a penalty.
