The_Swannie_House Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Yikes, if you didn't see / hear this already, check this out: http://www.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?id=52953 What a bonehead move, Vokoun is being treated for a deep cut to his ear (ouch) -- good thing he had his helmet on! This game is just getting too violent!
Mbossy Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I imagine Toronto being the prison bitch. :w00t: Tru- dat He wants OV suspended though. Not Keith Ballard just crushing Vokun in the face with his stick! Holy Crap! WTF! I see Goose beating Tallinder ass if that happened. They just said Ovechkin hurt by knee-on-knee collision...anybody see it yet or know the severity? Figures, since I'm going to the Caps game Dec.9. I went to the Caps game last year too and he was out for that game also  . I mean it's good for the Sabres if he's out, but I'd still like to see the guy play in person. How many games, it's about time. Wow...that was pretty neat...Miller clears the puck to the boards, and it goes directly through the camera hole and hits the camera man right in the face...I always wanted to see that happen. Giving him the stick was cool PR move. But now he's lost his lucky stick!
cdexchange Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 WTF! I see Goose beating Tallinder ass if that happened. Haha, I'd pay to see that
Calvin Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Giving him the stick was cool PR move. But now he's lost his lucky stick! I don't know about that, everything he is touching is turning into solid gold right now.. anything around him is getting picked up and carried by him! The last three games he's played he's been 1st star twice and 2nd star once.. all three were Sabres wins
cdexchange Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 So I used the web browser on my PS3 to stream the game onto my TV from that adthe site, and it actually worked perfectly. The picture was crap but not much worse than a regular low-def away game, and I could put my feet up and watch it in the living room instead of having to watch on the computer in my office  What a strange night in the NHL, with the AO hit, the weird Corvo injury, the puck hitting the photographer, and the Ballard thing. I'm glad none of it adversely affected the Sabres.

And John Vogl too hammered to report on the game.
mikegrier Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Miller is turning into a brilliant re-signing by Regier... Miller lowered his NHL leading GAA and save percentage to 1.83 and .937... Sabres play a ho-hum game and take the W..... He's on HGH. what's he up to now 165?
HurlyBurly51 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 clearly, you don't understand sportsmanship. Fewell needs to know when to call off the dogs! Schopp is a douche. That being said, they were running the ball, not flinging it all over the place. If you don't want the score run up on you, then stop them! I don't think this interweb thing is the right format for Schopp. He can't simply hang up on folks when he doesn't like what he hears.

... Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I forgot to mention, one of the stats screens for the Sportsnet feed was "Ruff Relies on Kids". It was about Butler and Myers. The latter who had the most TOI tonight at 24:13.
spndnchz Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Speaking of line changes: Pominville - Roy- Kennedy JFGI
carpandean Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Another good night for Stafford (and Roy, but that's less surprising) on faceoffs, going 7 for 10. He's at 56.8% for the season. The sample size is increasing, too; he's taken 44 so far and rising fast. Timmy is no longer taking faceoffs and the Drew/Clarke combo went 11 for 16 (68.75%). Kennedy got abused, going 0 for 7. Maybe Grier will have to start taking them; he went 3 for 4. Mike's a big guy, so Goose should be able to give him some tips.
carpandean Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 The latter who had the most TOI tonight at 24:13. He's averaging 21:53 for the season, good for second (behind Hedman) among rookies, but over the last 10 games he's averaged over 23 minutes.
JujuFish Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Miller's been improving his shutout numbers each year as a starter, almost a Fibonacci sequence. His numbers since 05-06: 1, 2, 3, 5. I, for one, am looking forward to at least 8 shutouts this year.
bottlecap Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Observations about the game: Ron Wilson's expressions behind the bench were priceless. Why is he in charge of anything? Gustafsson looked confused and shaky out there, like the Sabres were too fast for him. Andy Brickley is a moron, especially when broadcasting the Sabres. It's obvious he not only despises the Sabres but he knows nothing about them. Why VS has a homer like him on a national feed is beyond me. Lindy has really shaken up these lines. I like Roy with Pominville, but Vanek with Grier? Maybe the injuries have something to do with it but Thomas Needs a set-up man. The D is stacking up very well in front of the net. Miller is getting help this year. I still think that NHLers in the Olympics are a sham. Schopp is taking a real beating on these boards...but the real razz this AM (at least for me) goes to Brickley.
LabattBlue Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Game thoughts(I only have one)... - Miller's play continues to amaze me. He doesn't seem to be flopping around in the butterfly as much and is doing a great job with rebounds. The Leafs could have easily been ahead 2-0 or 3-0 as the Sabres were sleepwalking their way through the first half of the game. I am trying to temper my enthusiasm, but IF the rest of the team can get motivated come March/April and IF Miller doesn't lose his grove, this team could make waves. Two pretty big IF'S!
North Buffalo Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Interesting stat announced last night on vs.... the Leaves are averaging the most shots on goal of any team but they don't have the goals to show for it. We saw last night they are good cyclers but it doesn't seem like they are able to make the goalie move. Too many shots were straight on, no wonder Miller had a shutout. Not saying he wasn't good, but it is indicative of their game, all hat and no cattle... Weird though because they had the Sabres running around a lot in their own end and the forwards didn't seem to be able to help the D clear the puck.
SDS Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 JFGI what does the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis have to do with the game?
Stoner Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 PA has multiple personalities. Stop trying to come on to me. I like chicks. I know how to get a restraining order against stalkers.

Weird though because they had the Sabres running around a lot in their own end and the forwards didn't seem to be able to help the D clear the puck. Against a team that could finish this would have been a problem. I've been beating this drum forever. And it's coaching, not the players. It's the same reason why our forwards never get behind their D as well and we see point shots get deflected in front of Miller. Oh well. The beats goes on.
rbochan Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Pretty douchey move by Wilson to pull their goalie just to stop a shutout.
Stoner Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Speaking of line changes: Pominville - Roy- Kennedy JFGI That wasn't a line last night -- at least not on a regular basis, if at all. What are we supposed to google?
Barnabov Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 WHO OWNS DE LEAFS? (with apologies to Slapshot). If VS didn't screw up the stats as they're prone to do, that's 7 games in a row the Sabres have beaten TO.

Heard the three Versus calls this morning, and it's funny how on two of the Sabres goals, it's "Blah blah blah, oh yeah, the Sabres score." Idiots.
