Stoner Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Faceoff win percentage plummeting each of the past four games. Any theories as to why? (Heck, he even lost a couple of draws to Rob Ray during a recent segment on faceoffs!)
ThePebble19 Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 He's been shooting a new green team commercial, and he doesn't have time to practice his faceoffs between games? Seriously though, I don't know...With this team, it seems when they hit a wall, the whole team hits the wall. Unfortunately, it seems to happen a few times a year, for more than a couple games each time.
sabills Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 We'll see. Even though he's had a rough few games, he's still leading the league. Only by 2% now, though, not the 10% earlier in the year.
shrader Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 A term I hate, but it's regression to the mean. There was no way he was going to maintain that high figure.

If you look at the numbers, he's fallen off the face of the earth, pun intended. For each of the last four games, he's had his worst faceoff night of the season. I could see your point if he had fallen to the mid 50s or something for four games.

I missed the Ottawa game, but I have noticed that his timing seems off a bit lately. It looks like he's been jumping a bit early on a lot of draws. He'll work on it and I'm sure he'll get going in the right direction. It's just a bump in the road. There was definitely something to the idea that his numbers were a bit too high though. Oh, and your pun sucked. :D
