Two or less Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I'll be in Buffalo for the Canes game and then also the Bills game the next day. Usually i stay with friends at UB but this being thanksgiving weekend, i won't be able to do that. So, me and a friend of mine, are gonna be staying at a hotel. Does anyone know any decent priced hotels around the chippawa/hsbc arena area?

Usually i stay with friends at UB but this being thanksgiving weekend, i won't be able to do that. So, me and a friend of mine, are gonna be staying at a hotel. Does anyone know any decent priced hotels around the chippawa/hsbc arena area? Yes: Embassy Suites--one block from Del & Chip--VERY nice hotel, pricey (for Buffalo, that is; I think a room is around $190). Opposing teams stay here. There's usually a bunch of autograph hounds outside on game days. Hampton Inn -- on corner of Del & Chip--slightly less expensive; no bar or restaurant inside, though. Comfort Suites--Main & Chip--less expensive, but not as much less expensive than the other two as it should be, considering the complete lack of amenities. Hyatt--Pearl & Huron (one block from Pearl & Chip)--as expensive as Embassy & Hampton, recently remodeled & I've heard it's nice now. Adam's Mark--waterfront--you can walk to the Arena, but not to anything else that's fun, so you may not like it there. Same price range as everything other than the Comfort Suites.
wonderbread Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Thank you very much! send TW a PM his son works at the comfort he may be able to help you!
Eleven Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 The Flames are walking into the Hampton Inn right now. Apparently, opponents don't always stay at Embassy.

Eleven Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Wait for it, around 2AM . Now, I don't want to encourage this type of completely awesome, understandable, and illegal behavior, but because of how my office window is situated, I probably can tell the board on most occasions where the opponents are staying. Should be fun come late April.
Eleven Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Alright, there just was a fire alarm at the Hampton. No lie. Three hook-and-ladder trucks responded. I'm looking at you, Mbossy.

What do you expect when a hotel is full of Flames? (I thank you - I'll be here all weekend. Try the veal!)

That Aud Smell Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 eleven covered the waterfront, so i will just comment in bold on his review. Embassy Suites--one block from Del & Chip--VERY nice hotel, pricey (for Buffalo, that is; I think a room is around $190). Opposing teams stay here. There's usually a bunch of autograph hounds outside on game days. the hotel is brand spanking new and has a great brand flagship. still, new hotels can have kinks to work out. and it ain't cheap. Hampton Inn -- on corner of Del & Chip--slightly less expensive; no bar or restaurant inside, though. this is the one i'd recommend -- great brand, solid facility, good service, good price. no restaurant or bar, but hell you're on the strip. there is room service available. Comfort Suites--Main & Chip--less expensive, but not as much less expensive than the other two as it should be, considering the complete lack of amenities. *meh* Hyatt--Pearl & Huron (one block from Pearl & Chip)--as expensive as Embassy & Hampton, recently remodeled & I've heard it's nice now.i love the old place, but the last 3 clients i sent there had complaints. not worth the money i am afraid. Adam's Mark--waterfront--you can walk to the Arena, but not to anything else that's fun, so you may not like it there. Same price range as everything other than the Comfort Suites.i don't think you can go wrong there, but it tends to be a bit pricey. i will also add this: the best western on delaware near allen street is quiet, comfortable, and well-priced. you also get ready access to bar/restaurants like colter bay, gabriel's gate, and mothers (tucked away on virginia place). as for mothers, i have a fun tim connolly/brian campbell story that occurred during the lockout. that's for another day. have to run.
Eleven Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I don't know where the Canadiens are staying (didn't see any autograph hounds or motor coaches this morning), if they stayed the night at all, but I note that there is a fire alarm at the Hampton again.

Eleven Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I have an alibi. :D Nah, you couldn't have done this: TEN fire trucks, including three hook-and-ladders. Two "chief" SUVs, some sort of red sedan with insignia and lights, and two ambulances. They actually took out a hose, so maybe this one was real. Or maybe you did do it.
