Stoner Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I was just trying to find the part where you got hit by a piece of rubber moving at 75mph. Let's leave chz's love life out of this, please.
wonderbread Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Take Thomas at his word. It was on his personal website. You know everything you read on the internets is true. I think if he really had internally bleeding he wouldn't have been allowed allowed to play. The only way he'd know is if a Dr. knew you'd have to figure that this information would have been shared with the teams medical staff etc. You don't put your 50 million dollar investment out on the ice if he has internal bleeding. :death: Not to say the guys didn't play hurt. I will give him his due. i like the gist of his interview. I do wonder if thats the real TV or is it just canned responses that were written prior to it.

korab rules Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Bj and hawkie just loved sticking their hands inside human bodies for kicks. I thought this described pa's love life.
MATTHEWALLEN Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 WOW, this is an old thread. He need's to have fun again. It's been no fun since his offer sheet. He's got it, you seen it for a flash when he got back into the playoffs against Boston. He's got it. This is the year he show's it. (Fingers crossed!!!)
SwampD Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Wow. If that's true, no one can ever question his heart again. I never did. But, as someone else already said, I still question Lindy's ability to use him properly. I know, more Lindy bashing, but if the question is "what's wrong with Vanek?" then that's my answer.
nobody Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 OK, doesn't internal bleeding carry a very significant medical connotation? I mean, every time someone was flow to the 4077th with internal bleeding, they rushed him to surgery. Unless Frank Burns was in charge or pre-op.
Stoner Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Unless Frank Burns was in charge or pre-op. lol What a great actor, Larry Linville. And what a great show. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
nobody Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 delicious red euphoria - The Vanek Song http://www.myspace.com/deliciousredmusic I’ve always waited for a day like this. My mind is focused and I clinched my fists. Outside it’s getting loud. A thousand people shout. Their screams they cut the calm before the storm. We are fast, we are strong, it seems that nothing can go wrong. The time has come and I am sure that we will give the best we can.Chorus: I can. I’m still feeling all this energy in me. We set the air on fire. Hands up - you know exactly what I mean. I can’t hear you - SCREAM.A painful hit and everything turns black. But just a scratch, no time to care about that. We are fast, we are strong, it seems that nothing can go wrong. The time has come and I am sure that we will give the best we can.ChorusNot wasting time - the drama is not to come. The heat is on and that’s okay. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. My ice, my slot, your boards. We’ll win this game right from the start.I can. With this crowd here standing right behind me. I will make sure they won’t forget ’bout it again. Chorus.
nobody Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 vanek is beast 80 goals next season. Is Pat LaFontaine coming out of retirement?
korab rules Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Is Pat LaFontaine coming out of retirement? Wouldn't that be a combo? 80 might actually be acheivable.
nobody Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Wouldn't that be a combo? 80 might actually be acheivable. He was the assist king. 92-93 season when Mogilny scored 76, Lafontaine had 95 assists.
wjag Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 He was the assist king. 92-93 season when Mogilny scored 76, Lafontaine had 95 assists. You ever get the feeling we're never going to see 76 goals in a Sabres uniform again?

nfreeman Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 He was the assist king. 92-93 season when Mogilny scored 76, Lafontaine had 95 assists. Those 2 numbers are amazing. I'd be curious what the top all-time NHL stats for high goals and assists for teammates are like.
Kristian Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Those 2 numbers are amazing. I'd be curious what the top all-time NHL stats for high goals and assists for teammates are like. Got a feeling #99 is involved somehow.

Off the top of my head, it HAS to be Gretzky-Kurri, right? Okay, I looked up their stats (doesn't confirm the record, I'm just assuming, but you sometimes forget just how ridiculous these guys were): 1985-86 Wayne Gretzky 52 / 163 / 215 Jari Kurri 68 / 63 / 131 346 points between two players. Unreal. To be fair, I looked up Paul Coffey's numbers, and looks like he had more than Kurri that year: 48 / 90 / 138 At the end of the 1985-86 season, Edmonton could put three guys on the ice whose total points amounted to 484. That's obscene. And they didn't even make it to the finals that year.

gregkash Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 what kills me is the year that Mogilny scored 76 he TIED for the league lead in goals. TIED. And LaFontaine was SECOND in points scored. 2 easy trivia questions: what ROOKIE equaled Mogilny's goal total for what team? And who beat out Pat LaFontaine for the scoring title? no Cheating, these are easy.

Eleven Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Gotta be selanne on winnapeg with the goals Definitely. And I would guess, but it's a guess, Lemieux on points.
Taro T Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Those 2 numbers are amazing. I'd be curious what the top all-time NHL stats for high goals and assists for teammates are like. Too lazy to ensure this is the "one" but in '85-'86 Kurri had 68 goals and some guy named Gretzky had a mere 163 assists. The previous year, Kurri had 71 goals and didn't lead the league (but he did beat #3 by 13). That Gretzky guy had 73 that year. Definitely. And I would guess, but it's a guess, Lemieux on points. Yep, in the year that Mario missed 20 or so games getting treated for leukemia. Mario got out to a huge lead in points, had to miss a 1/4 of the season and Patty clawed his way to the lead; just to have Mario blow by him when he returned.
shrader Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 A very different era and all, but still un-freakin-believable. 163 assists. Go back and find the last time someone in the league actually scored that many points in one season. You'll be looking for a while, but I'm sure we all know who it was (especially since only 2 people have ever put up that many points). Looking over the numbers, I'm actually stunned by who holds the record for most points in a season by a guy not named Gretzky or Lemieux. Anyone have any guesses on who that is?
