I have no problem believing that this is what that reaction was about. The one issue that keeps coming to my mind though is that the Sabres have been quiet about it so far. If they're still going with their story that no decision has been made, why would these employees start talking to some random person you bring along with you?

If you ask anyone at the rink that is there they will all tell you the same thing..When I see anyone ask them alls I see is the " Are you serious you even have to ask that question?" They already know and have known for some reason..They are just having fun with it now I would guess..

Fight the good fight, Stenbaro! I believe you! (except for the part about Pronger.)

He is everybit the player Pronger was when he came up...I fully expect to see Tyler whack some dude across the wrists with his 25 ft stick someday...

I've thought about why the team wouldn't have made an announcement, and I've come up with a couple of ideas:

1. If there's no paper to file, that is, if the way to execute the decision to keep Myers up is simply to dress him for the 10th game, then there really is no announcement to be made. Let the Leafs wonder what the Sabres are doing.

2. If there is some other way of formalizing Myers's status as an NHL player, like filing paperwork with the league, then the team was smart to wait. They wouldn't have looked too good if Myers had suffered a serious injury in, say, game six of the year, and a year of RFA protection was wasted.

He has to actually play in a 10th game before anything happens. If an injury happened, he'd still be paid his NHL rate, but as long as that 10th game isn't played, the contract would be extended that extra year.

So, Vanek-Man, are you going to just sit there and let him call you a douche? AND misspell it?

Very appropriate for this thread......well it took three and a half years, but I managed my 100th post haha.

I say don't have any announcement. Everyone who's a fan knows by now what Fridays game means.

It should be great fun on Friday to hear Myers' name over the PA system when they announce the starting lineup at HSBC before the game and then the roar of the crowd. (Although we'll know when we see him warming up)

He could warm up and still be a healthy scratch. ;)

Yeah, I thought of that. But that would be messing with our heads a bit too much.

I hope they have some fun with it. They should leave him out of the warmups all together, only to have him skate out for the pre-game introductions.

Hmmm. How about this one. He doesn't skate the warmup. Doesn't go to the bench when the team comes out. But then we see Sabretooth skate onto the ice, tear his costume off and it's Myers! Well, it is the Halloween game?

The scoreboard is lowered to the ice, explodes, and Myers emerges from the wreckage. The fans won't care about the shrapnel wounds they receive, they'll be too busy cheering Myers.

LLOL*. They tried the crashing scoreboard trick a few years ago, the game was canceled.

* Literally LOL, too many people use LOL figuratively.

Yeah, that's why I lowered it to the ice first.
