SteamRoller72 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Tyler Myers I'm not trying to be a huge smart ass, just a little one... ;) I've seen the guys name butchered in every thread he's been mentioned in to date. I'm sure I've mis-spelled a players name before, but I'm also sure it had more than 5 letters.

But why hold us accountable for someone who does not know how to spell his own name?

I can deal with the misspellings of Paetsch because, really, who cares. This one is too easy though.
carpandean Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 How long have Tim Connolly (not Connelly) and Jason Pominville (not Pomminstein*) been on this team and people still get those wrong. * Using Pommer as a nickname probably doesn't help with that one.
Stoner Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I haven't noticed anyone misspelling his name here. Good thing we have the search function... Oh yeah, Myers' nickname is... My-zee. Great.
spndnchz Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I haven't noticed anyone misspelling his name here. Good thing we have the search function... Oh yeah, Myers' nickname is... My-zee. Great. I thought it was "Lurch"
shrader Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I always want to type spndchz instead of spndnchz.
spndnchz Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I always want to type spndchz instead of spndnchz. As long as ur spendin', doesn't matter how u spell it. ;)
inkman Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I always want to type spndchz instead of spndnchz. I always want to type sprdnchz instead of spndnchz.
ROC Sabres Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I always want to type sprdnchz instead of spndnchz. As long as your spreadin', doesn't matter how you spell it.

Answer: Long enough. I see this as laziness. All someone needs to do is type and/or point & click for about 15 seconds to get to the Sabres' roster page and find out the correct spelling of a player's name. Those 15 seconds aren't going to kill your day.

Actually, people who watch the games or at least read game recaps and things like that should see the name spelled out on their screen or paper constantly. It's not laziness, it's stupidity.
SHAAAUGHT!!! Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I haven't noticed anyone misspelling his name here. Good thing we have the search function... Oh yeah, Myers' nickname is... My-zee. Great. ...and when Myers and Butler are on the PP, its the My-But line.
carpandean Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 ...and when Myers and Butler are on the PP, its the My-But line. Roysie-Staff-Goose-My-But  (It's actually funnier if you pronounce Roy the French-Canadian way: "Wah, ze staff goose my butt!")
inkman Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 ...and when Myers and Butler are on the PP, its the My-But line. We can let that slide, only because you have the second coolest handle on SS. Maybe you do things different than me, but I never want my butt on the pee pee.

JujuFish Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I'm sure I've mis-spelled a players name before, but I'm also sure it had more than 5 letters. You've also misspelled 'misspelled' by adding an extraneous hyphen. Tsk, tsk. :P
stenbaro Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I was at the practice yesterday and when Lindy told the team that Myers was staying up they broke into a huge cheer and tackled him like they all just won the cup. It made the hairs stand up..I am starting to think this team might be going somewhere this yr..

I heard it was because he made the shot from across the ice and they didn't have to do laps?
stenbaro Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 U sure about that? I heard it was because he made the shot from across the ice and they didn't have to do laps? Know it for a fact...I heard it with my own ears...The kid has a shot at NHL rookie of the year on top of that he is already our best defenseman. Its kinda funny in a way he is already better than Campbell at bringing the puck out of his end, he is more physical than anyone weve had in yrs. He is Brian Campbell and Chris Pronger all rolled into one.. I laughed when they drafted him...Called him big bird..Boy was I wrong..The team has really rallied around him and they all wanted him to stay...
SteamRoller72 Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 You've also misspelled 'misspelled' by adding an extraneous hyphen. Tsk, tsk. :P Thanks Uncle Juju. I'll make sure to study for an extra hour before my next spelling test. I don't want to lose that gold star! Just spell the freaking players name right...
LabattBlue Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Thanks Uncle Juju. I'll make sure to study for an extra hour before my next spelling test. I don't want to lose that gold star! Just spell the freaking players name right... I don't think anyone here is spelling his name as you indicate in your title(Mayers, Mair, etc...). As far as people spelling his name Meyers, he is a new player and it is a common mistake to spell it incorrectly.
