inkman Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Watching on TV, I only get snippets of what's playing at the arena. Are they still catering to 14 year old girls? What music are they playing for the PP now?
nfreeman Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I think LR emphasis this year is what they do when they dont have the puck. And are they playing anything original? ie anything that you don't hear in every other sports arena? It is so lame hearing "crazy train" and especially "sweet caroline" over and over.

inkman Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 PP is still Coheed & Cambria's 'Welcome Home' I thought it was the Dropkick Murphy's. When did that change?
spndnchz Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Hells Bells is the opener. Very cool.

When they play on the road, I can only wonder why the HSBC can't echo the riffs of Metallica, Pantera, AiC and the Foo Fighters. Instead, I hear "Barbie Girl" or whatever little girlie garbage they are playing.
Calvin Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I thought it was the Dropkick Murphy's. When did that change? I think it was early on last season
inkman Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 Hells Bells is the opener. Very cool. That's a good start, literally.
Eleven Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 The opponents and refs skate out to "Hells Bells," and the Sabres skate out to "Street Fighting Man" again, which is awesome. The rest of the music is the same crap you hear at any other arena.
Patty16 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 does anyone else really not like the PP song? no complaints about the other selections

I'll just ignore that Bon Jovi is on it.

Wasn't there a discussion about this last year where somebody mentioned licensing and HSBC not having the rights to play outside of their current crappy playlist?
Kevbeau Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Papa Roach - Dead Cell A Perfect Circle - Passive Butthole Surfers - Who Was in My Room Last Night? Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot Cypress Hill - Superstar Stabbing Westward - Save Yourself Rage - Pick one....I'm partial to "Bulls on Parade" or "War Within a Breath" DevilDriver - I Could Care Less Linkin Park - Don't Stay Anything of Rob Zombie's "American Made Music To Strip By"
LabattBlue Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Instead, I hear "Barbie Girl" or whatever little girlie garbage they are playing. Georgy Girl? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSVfLNCW4Fs
ThePebble19 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Yep...Hells Bells with Street Fighting Man as the opener, Welcome Home as the PP Song, and it looks like they are playing Rev Theory's "Hell Yeah" as one of their goal songs...Not sure if they are still using Beautiful, Wake Up or Song 2 as well.
sweeper Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 To answer your question, yes most of the music sucks still. The opening presentation is pretty cool this year though. It'd be a new low of cheapness if they didn't have the license to play whatever they felt like around the arena...if a local bar can afford that, I think HSBC arena can also.
Stoner Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Georgy Girl? Please. Enough with the crazy music these kids are playing today.
LabattBlue Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Please. Enough with the crazy music these kids are playing today. I'm not sure who else is around on these boards regularly who may have ever heard of this song besides you and me?
Sabre Dance Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I'm not sure who else is around on these boards regularly who may have ever heard of this song besides you and me? Guilty - it was quite popular back in the (gulp) sixties. Movie theme, I believe. James Mason, Lynn Redgrave. Oh, lord - I'm old!

sweeper Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 If it makes you feel any better, I'm familiar with the song, and I'm "only" in my early 30's. Chalk it up to elders that reeeally liked Oldies 104.
