PromoTheRobot Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 We face the Islanders at home Friday and the Thrashers in Atlnta Saturday. Why not get Lalime a start in one of them? Miller has been hot by why burn him out? PTR
wonderbread Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I'd start Lalime on the road. Give Miller the first game. On the road 2nd night in a row why not. If they can steal a win it would be great to start the season 5-0-1.

Miller hasn't even seen 100 shots yet. True, but judging how Ruff handled his goalies in prior seasons he may wait too long to give Miller a breather. Plus Lalime has to see some regular action just to keep some kind of edge. Why wait? PTR
SteamRoller72 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I would hope to see Lalime in goal tonight. Has anyone heard anything official today? Any links?

SteamRoller72 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I suppose, if we want to lose that is Lalime has to play at some point. Do you want Miller to start 75+ times and burn out down the stretch? Use some common sense, Lalime plays tonight or Saturday against the Thrashers.

I'd go as far as saying we wont see Lalime until non-conference games, maybe not until Edmonton or Calgary in November.

The Sabres have back to back games twice in October alone. If Patty doesn't start this weekend, he has to play on the 30th or 31st. The Sabres play every Friday and Saturday in November...brutal! Great for the fans, sucky for the goalies.

The prospect of Lalime playing always scares me, but I don't like to see Miller go back to back nights either. I'm curious what Miller's record is in the second of back to back games. Atlanta is playing very well, but they are also playing back to back after winning in New Jersey tonight. My guess is it will be Miller in goal against the Thrashers. I'm thinking Halloween night at the Islanders will be Lalime's night, the second of the Sabres next back to back, but that game will be on the road.
