gregkash Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 whose wearing the A's... i know goose has one, who else?
repster Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I hope it's precautionary for Vanek as well. No sense in keeping him out there with two goals already and a big lead if he has a boo-boo. I hope so too. I'm going to both games this weekend. I was looking forward to seeing him pot some goals in my end.
gregkash Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 what a give away by tallinder, lucky it didn't cost them.. he better get reamed for that.
tulax Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Nothing like the Versus announcers taking a dominating performance by Buffalo and basing it on a poor performance by Detroit.
Calvin Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I hope so too. I'm going to both games this weekend. I was looking forward to seeing him pot some goals in my end. yeah, me too.. coming in from out of town for the annual sojourn back home maybe it was getting the game on Vs. that broke the drought of goals.. after all the goalfests that we've seen on Vs. the last few games..
repster Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 yeah, me too.. coming in from out of town for the annual sojourn back home maybe it was getting the game on Vs. that broke the drought of goals.. after all the goalfests that we've seen on Vs. the last few games.. Yeah, THIS is how you perform on national television. Are you listening Bills?
Guest Sloth Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I was busy tonight, and I just now saw the score. Holy shitt, Buffalo has been playing good hockey this season! Keeping shots/goals against low, getting a lot of shots on goal, controlling the faceoff circle, and now putting the puck in the net. Oh how I wish it was Friday night! Myers and Kennedy had BETTER not be sent down!
... Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Great game. I'll be there Saturday. Hope Vanek makes it back for that game.
Ohiofan Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 That was fun. Good game. I'm starting to feel a little optimistic...
Wacka Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Yeah, THIS is how you perfoirm on national television. Are you listening Bills? If it wasn't for a lousy call by the ref in the first game, we'd be 4-0!
Guest Sloth Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Come on, boys, hang on to the lead! I hope it's precautionary for Vanek as well. No sense in keeping him out there with two goals already and a big lead if he has a boo-boo. Couldn't agree w/ you more! What worries me though is that Vanek was not brought back out to the bench to watch...
Wacka Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Couldn't agree w/ you more! What worries me though is that Vanek was not brought back out to the bench to watch... Maybe they said to take a nice long shower and relax in the whirlpool while watching the game.
North Buffalo Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Couldn't agree w/ you more! What worries me though is that Vanek was not brought back out to the bench to watch... Wrist or elbow from what they showed on the Bench... looked like he might have gotten slashed on the play???
Calvin Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Wrist or elbow from what they showed on the Bench... looked like he might have gotten slashed on the play??? great job guys.. keep up the fantastic work!!
McJeff215 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Lindy just said "Yeah, Thomas is going to miss some time." That's all so far, though. It's a matter of "weeks."
Stoner Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Great game. I'll be there Saturday. Hope Vanek makes it back for that game. "Going to miss some time" Lindy said. Sorry sizzle.
repster Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Lindy Ruff: "Thomas will miss some time". He said it will be "weeks"... $&%#$^%*@*%& Why can't we just enjoy a normal victory without having something bad happen?
Stoner Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Lindy Ruff: "Thomas will miss some time". He said it will be "weeks"... {:content:}amp;%#$^%*@*%& Why can't we just enjoy a normal victory without having something bad happen? Yeah, that sucks.
shrader Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Vanek out weeks? Gerbe anyone? They're not calling anyone up. Paille or Mair will go into the lineup and they'll see where it takes them.
novascotiaguy Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Yeah, that sucks. well lets see if we got as much depth as ruff says. Mair back in
SabreInFla Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 It figures, a good night for Buffalo sports ruined with a star being injured. It will be interesting to see if the level of play remains the same.
SabresFan526 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Saw the third, but missed the first and second. So, basically, I missed the whole game. Overall, I'm impressed. Absolutely wow! Looks like the Sabres totally dominated the class of the NHL. One thing you can say is that the performances have been really consistent by the Sabres with 35+ shots on goal and only giving up in the low 20s in shots. It was good to see that pucks were going in the net tonight. Lindy was right, the goals will come if you continue playing the same style of game consistently. One point of concern is Vanek. Look like he had a big game tonight with 2 goals, but got hurt. Hope it's not too serious, but the announcers on Vs. said it did not seem to be a big deal. On a separate note, I think Clarke MacArthur has found a home in Buffalo and has really found a role with the Sabres. I've been really impressed with his play over the start of the season and he's been consistently getting on the scoresheet. He had a really good end to the season last year, and it looks like he's picked up where he left off and is proving that he is a legitimate top 6 forward on this team. I like how he also plays a very good two way game and is sound defensively. By the way, as some people on this board like to use +/- as a good proxy for defensive ability, Henrik Tallinder was a +5 tonight and was on the ice for all five even strength goals. Not sure what this means as I saw him give the puck directly to Darren Helm in the third period from behind the net as he was trying to get the puck up ice, but Miller bailed him out. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Aside from that comment, though, I do think Tallinder is playing with a lot more confidence this year, and on the whole looks markedly better than where he has been the last two years, but that's not saying much.
