SabresFanInRochester Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I have enjoyed guessing the total number of team points in past years. I don't think anyone started this thread yet for this season. And, after this survey is complete, I think the only total remaining to guess at is the number of sticks snapped by Buffalo while on the power play. So, for the year, I am going on the record of guessing 99 team points. (And, although I am not going to keep track, I am going to guess 184 sticks snapped while on the power play.)
wonderbread Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 96 points 45-33-6 I say Pominville gets an even bigger gold chain as well.
LabattBlue Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 96 points(7th place in the conference)
wjag Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I have had them at sub 90 the past two years. This year I see incremental improvement and go with 91 points.
SteamRoller72 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 No signifigant injuries to Miller or Vanek = 97 points & 5th or 6th in east. Either of them misses 10-15 games = 91 points or less & early tee times.
That Aud Smell Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 96 points. hope it's enough. 96 points 96 points(7th place in the conference) what they said. I say Pominville gets an even bigger gold chain as well. :worthy:

Claude_Verret Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 90 pts. 9th place. To quote Steven Tyler: "If you do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got"
Spudz Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I say Pominville gets an even bigger gold chain as well. If I remember correctly Grier had a massive chain. Maybe he'll tell Pominville as veteran advice to upgrade. Do you think they compare them in the locker room?
inkman Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Do you think they compare them in the locker room? Grier wins, pants down. :bag:
carpandean Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I'm usually optimistic with these things and we've come up short, so I'll try something different: 65 points. How does everyone feel about Vanek/Hall as our #1/#2 left wingers? Do we take the risk of drafting a Russian with Kabanov? How about center Tyler Seguin? We certainly could use more Tylers.
Calvin Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 i'll go with 96 too, enough for a lower seeding in the Eastern Conf
North Buffalo Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 96 is a good round number, though if Boston stumbles and Ottowa despite its fresh blood eats its own.... It could be higher. Rangers won't be better, don't see the anyone in the conference except Montreal taking a big step forward... yet Pitts and DC will still be the most talented teams in the Conf.

SteamRoller72 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Losing Miller will have a much bigger impact(playoffs vs. no playoffs) than losing Vanek. I realize that. If either miss significant time (10-15 games), we're staring at 9th - 13th and another great golf season.
Taro T Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I'll go w/ 95 which probably would get them 7th or 8th and hope they can stay healthy enough to get to 97 which would be enough to get them in.
korab rules Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Grier wins, pants down. :bag: Roy won't know what to do with himself! And my vote is 98 points, 6 seed against Carolina in the first round, who will win their division and home ice advantage with 94 points, while some other team in the east will miss out on the playoffs entirely even thoough they have more points than Carolina.
Sabre Dance Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Four points less than the eighth place team....
