chileanseabass Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 just a question here, but can a player who's on IR at the dealine be dealt, or is there sometihng that says guys on IR cannot be traded? in a hypothetical situation, let's say the minnesota wild want to move zyuzin, a future UFA, but he pulls a muscle or something a week before the dealine. to make roster space for a callup, zyuzin goes on IR. he's still on IR when the deadline comes, and a team, let's say tampa, wants him, knowing he'll be healthy in a few days. yeah, so the example is long-winded, but can the trade be made?
PTS Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Yes, the Sabres could go after for instance Jovonaski who's still on IR. The negavtive for the team trading a player who injured is that they'll get less in return.
chileanseabass Posted March 7, 2006 Author Report Posted March 7, 2006 i figured it was possible, but there had been so many nuances with the new cba, i just didn't know if there was a policy or not
