LabattBlue Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I was just looking at this years box office prices(which are a shock to me because I pay season ticket price) and it got me wondering, how much would you spend per ticket for a regular season game? Pick the team you want to see most, on the best day of the week, and open your wallet! I must have a little OSP in me, because there is no way I'm paying more than $75 for a ticket and that would have to be for a team I'd really like to see and on a Saturday night. Most games, I don't think I would go higher than $50. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=39501
darksabre Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I'm a poor college student, so I have to vote $50, which is what I'm paying to go see the game against Calgary. Ebay purchase of course.

Four tickets together, the cheapest available was $150 per, and that was the day they were made available to the public (actually the day before, thanks to the Sabres insider e-mail). I always try to get lower bowl corner where sabres shoot twice, seems to be the best value. I agree, $75 is about as high as I am willing to go during the regular season.
inkman Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Being spoiled with AHL prices my whole life, it's hard for me to spend more than $15. If I was going to one game I guess I'd spend $75 bucks, but I would feel a little sheepish afterward.
Mbossy Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 100 and 200 level seats for the Leafs preseason tonight are only $20. I'd expect a boxing match tonight. I'd go with Blue. That's the one reason I paid for seasons. Since I split with a few people I can see about 10 games for the price of 3 or 4 at regular window price.

shrader Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I usually end up paying about $45 for the crappiest seats out here in Boston. I would have no problem paying more for decent seats in Buffalo, not that it is ever really an option for me.

Then again, I don't live in Buffalo any more. I will probably drop $100+ on tix to see them in NYC and Philly this year.
Mbossy Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 $20? From where? Go on Sabres.com and use the promo code "insider" 100, 200 are $20 and 300's are $15.
Kevbeau Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Usually go to the game after Xmas with my family (bro/sis + spouses). After online gouging even if the cheapest nosebleeds were available (which they're not) your looking at around $350. Granted, it's for six tickets and I don't find $50 too unreasonable. Throw parking & a couple beers each on there & we're in $500 territory. We can go out & feast/drink like kings 2x over & and still catch the game at a bar for that much. Also, I'm spoiled because tickets are cheap/easy to come by in Atlanta.

... Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Wow, if I didn't have an inordinate amount of work to do tonight I'd be all over that! Apparently there are a lot of people ahead of you if my wait on hold for the box office is any indication. I wonder if they made a boo-boo on the code because I recall getting it last year in time to order my pre-season tix, but not this year. I'm on the "insider" list and a mini-pack holder - I should have been given this code long ago, no? So far, ten minutes on hold. UPDATE: YAY! The Sabres Customer Service team comes through again! Apparently the email went out "last night". They adjusted the price. I will say this about the Sabres organization, and I've had the occasion to meet some of the executives as well as dealing with people down the ranks - they're very accommodating and are generally really good at customer (or patron) services.

Calvin Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 stubhub is a major ripoff for buying tickets, don't even waste your time!! sometimes you can get a great deal on ebay. i prefer getting single game tix from season tkt holders on craigslist, i end up spending in the $50-75 range for decent 'shoot twice' section tix

Sure the tickets are above cost but hey, if you want to go to an event bad enough, and you couldn't get tickets when they went on sale and it's now sold out, you can't beat it. I thought ebay was more expensive than stubhub the few times I shopped for tix to sold out events. I think as far as a regular season game I would hate to pay over $75. We bought 4 tickets to the contest in Columbus in February, and thats about what we paid. One game for four of us and I'm already waaaay over what I pay for a season of Center Ice.

The big issue I have with Stubhub is the Fedex-only shipping option - seems like that's where the ripoff happens even if you get decently priced tix.
