puma2577 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Someone posted on the Calgary Flames forum (calgarypuck), that at one minute past midnight tonight the 23-man roster limit expires. This means that teams involved in trades wouldn't have to worry about creating spots by placing guys on waivers and such. That could explain why it's been slow, and the small trades we have seen have basically been player for player swaps. Also, after midnight tonight we can add Connolly and Kalinin to the roster without having to send anyone down. If the limit is actually what is holding up trades, it should be an exciting 36 hours from midnight tonight til the deadline.

Toronto has a big 4 point game against the Habs tonight. If they win, they're 6 points out of the playoffs, if they lose, they're 10 points out.
Toddkaz Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 If biron isnt traded Mika goes for next to nothing(for the sake of his career it is a nice gesture by Reiger) just to help the poor guy out
apuszczalowski Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 It is probably going to be a slower trade deadline then usual cause it is not going to be as easy to make a trade as it has been in the past. With a Cap in place, the teams can't just go out and trade for whomever they want, they have to stay within a certain limit. You may see some bigger deals happening cause of salary dumps, but I doubt it will be as big of a deal as it has been in the past
