Where do you guys get your Sabres commentary?

I usually read TBN. WGR does a decent job too but I rarely have the radio on. There's a lot of coverage those two sources either miss or cover improperly though I think. I'm sure many of you agree.

You don't really mean the Trinity Broadcasting Network, right? Perhaps you were trying to type TSN. Assuming the latter, I don't agree at all. What kind of coverage are you suggesting these sources combined could miss for your average hockey fan? For the average Sabres fan, add in the Buffalo News, and you pretty much have the angles covered.

Are you talking about in depth analysis of statistics? Well, locally there were few better at plowing through endless pages of stats, only to emerge with analytical gold, than our very own KK6666 and his (or her - to be safe, you know) alter ego "Guru". Perhaps you've read this person's work before?

It is quite colorful in its delivery, yet antagonizingly detailed. Few NHL commentators or critics, worldwide, could match this person's ability to seize their audience's attention and deliver fresh insight. They should be a pro if they're not already.

Personally I'm always looking for more opinions and commentary regarding the Sabres as long as they're properly outlined. What do you guys think? Are you looking for content like I am and if so, where do you go to to find new and interesting stuff?

Not quite sure what you mean by "outlined" as most journalism - yay, even hockey journalism - comes without outlines. Being a former reporter, I can tell you it was rare to outline my material before writing and producing it - and I knew of no one who did.

I would also have to say that most message board posters, blog writers, and others of the online ilk, they don't tend to outline their postings. That's like adding a summarizing headline to a post - most bloggers will add a headline but they hardly serve to summarize the content of the blog entry. I could be wrong, though, as the best blog I've run across lately has been "Sick Jersey, Bro".

Of course, I have to once again recommend our very own KK6666, aka "Guru" who always alluded to knowing stats and the deeper, intricate details of the game quite well. I could image that person - let's assume for the sake of argument, at the moment, that "Guru" is/was a he - I could image this fellow had stacks and stacks of outlines all over his parent's basement. He clearly went over and over and over them like the pathological, retentive perfectionist he was, or is. And, let's be honest, my humble characterization falls short, as there are, or were, greater things happening in the mind of "Guru".

Anyway, this person, I think you should seek him out if you don't already know him.

I agree SDS, but I'll answer him anyways.

I come here for my Sabres Commentary. Because I like to interact with those who have opinions, not just be talked at by some DJ or tv sports news reporter.

I had to answer this one right away...the word from the street is usually where we're going to get our best insight. People who get paid to comment(ate?) are usually just spoiled puff balls sitting on a tuffet who really have NO opinion and just repeat what they hear.

I am a one-board person. I read this and only this board. Besides the decorum, what makes this board a good read is the routine participation by a solid core of posters. Occasional sparring occurs but invariably dies down after a bit. Once you have read long enough, you can almost predict how certain people will post/react to topics/events. There are enough eyes scanning the blog-o-sphere to ensure that all relevant/witty/tawdry/controversial/just plain wrong articles are linked to or summarized. And what unites MOST of us is a shared connection to Western New York and what unites ALL of us is a passion for the Sabres. Why go elsewhere for commentary when the best is before you?

We aren't the largest message board out there and that's ok, because we have a low tolerance for knuckledraggers, although we keep DeLuca around to remind us of what we're missing.

Git! Git! PA his shotgun! We don't want yer kind here. We got everthing we need. Don't need no new blood. We keep it in the family here in the Aud Club. is nice 'n' easy.

This thread is great!

Do you mean something like this... When a positive Briere post would go up during his time with the Sabres, you know a DeLuca B-Rod post was soon to follow? Another example might be me looking to pounce on any Campbell related thread.

I likes me my commentatery right here just fine, an' I suggest you listen to my well armed friend here an' move along.

What sounded fishy, initially, was the use of the word 'content'. The only people that use the word content in this context is someone that's trying to sell you some content. :)

Now you have me curious. I'd love to see a short list of things you expect from certain posters. Could be entertaining.

Something doesn't smell right... <_<

i'll add my voice to the chorus of those who agreed.

Maybe my choice of words made this topic seem strange.

the whole feel of your grammar and syntax gave off a focus-group vibe to me. that's not a slam, mind you -- but yer sentences were all, like, properly punctuated, capitalized, and sh!t.

No message board board will offer the insight and intelligence you'll find here.

as i have typed many times, this is the only online community in which i have ever participated as a member. it's a unique and wonderful (virtual) place.

Somehow they tolerate me, but I call this place home.

come on, inkie, you're chief among the reasons i kept coming back when i first signed up after the 2006-2007 run. you're heart and soul around here, brother.

I told you not to stare directly into the calves. They've claimed another victim.

oh brother

This board could make TheChimp look like he knows hockey.

Geez, RW, I don't know what you are trying to do here at our happy little home, but you are not earning a lot of respect.

You have 11 posts currently: 6 blanks that just display the quote from a previous poster, 2 that simple say "JJ ?" (sic) in response to the previous poster referring to "JJ Pominville", 2 that belittle the intellegence of other posters here (the one quoted above included) and 1 that actually relates to thread you posted in.

Lighten up on the insults and stop the spam blank posts. Please.
