Foligno's Nose Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Season tickets have been received. The hometown football compatriots win their home opener. I love the smell of the GDT in the morning!!! (Now if it was only televised...)

repster Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 You can watch this game at adthe.net End of the first. Nice penalty killing by Hecht and Grier. Another minute to go on the major to Gaustad.
Eleven Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 You can watch this game at adthe.net Thanks for the reminder. MSG has preseason hockey on, but it's not the Sabres. Rangers-Detroit. And NHLN has Habs-Pens, which I might watch a bit of.
repster Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Nice leave by Connolly and shot by Kennedy from the point. Dammit the feed went out for the second goal. Coudln't tell from the reply behind the net what happened. In any case, 2-0 good guys.

repster Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Forget it. Its atdhe.net Sorry about "htat".
wonderbread Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 weber takes a weak crosschecking penalty at the end of the 2nd. Kaleta is already at midseason form. Blocking shots on the PK left and right.
korab rules Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Sorry about "htat". No problem - its bookmarked now. Is there a way to maximize the picture portion of the screen? Zooming only works on the text.
sweeper Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 So the Caps really use ALDO NOVA as their broadcast music when going to commercial, eh?
repster Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009  No problem - its bookmarked now. Is there a way to maximize the picture portion of the screen? Zooming only works on the text. Double click on the picture to get full screen. Unfortunately, the scoreline on the top interferes with the full picture. Kind of like sitting in the upper blues at the Aud and not being able to see the scoreboard...
wonderbread Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Weber with a terrible give away that should have been potted by green.
repster Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Lalime with an ENORMOUS save on a TERRIBLE giveaway by Weber. He's hasn't played bad but that was a cardinal sin right in front of his own net.
wonderbread Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 2-0-1 not to shabby Pat Lalime played well!
repster Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Looked like a typical road victory. Grind it out. Don't allow too many chances and wind up with the win.
shrader Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 2-0-1 not to shabby Pat Lalime played well! My cousin from DC was bragging about the Craps being 2-0 in the preseason. Since I actually understand how meaningless this is, I won't bother to mention today's game to her (even though she was there).
FogBat Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 My cousin from DC was bragging about the Craps being 2-0 in the preseason. Since I actually understand how meaningless this is, I won't bother to mention today's game to her (even though she was there). Don't worry. You should have some opportunities during the regular season to let her know that every game was a "Crapshot." (yes, bad joke, pun intended).
darksabre Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 All I gotta say is, Butler once again proving his shot from the point is key to winning games. This guy has to be a lock.
inkman Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 All I gotta say is, Butler once again proving his shot from the point is key to winning games. This guy has to be a lock. I think that was a given. How was Myers? Weber's give away sounds bad but what about the rest of his game?
Buffalo Wings Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 My cousin from DC was bragging about the Craps being 2-0 in the preseason. Since I actually understand how meaningless this is, I won't bother to mention today's game to her (even though she was there). Why do people do this? I've seen fans of NFL & MLB teams do the same. It's preseason...it means nothing. I don't get it.
wonderbread Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I think that was a given. How was Myers? Weber's give away sounds bad but what about the rest of his game? Myers really wasn't to noticable (other than being tall). Webers 2 negative plays were very noticable but he and Butler were probably the best tandem out there. They played a strong game together. Butler is going to be the real deal! You could hear him chirping at the refs as well. Its good to see him becoming more vocal.
shrader Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Why do people do this? I've seen fans of NFL & MLB teams do the same. It's preseason...it means nothing. I don't get it. People are dying for hockey (or football and baseball at that point).
Two or less Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 The Sabres are finding ways to win however it seems like their offense can be easily shut out of the game. In the first game, Varlamov was king until the 3rd period when we began scoring. Against Detroit it was like 30-10 shot advantage for the Wings and 1-0 lead going into the 3rd.... all 3 goals came in the 3rd. And last night, we scored 11 seconds apart. One problem i had with this team last year was they could never play a 60 minute game. Pre-season or not, they are still not showing they can. They are going to have a hard time winning if they can only play good hockey for just several minutes a game.
