Jeanneret's first game at the Cumberland County Civic Center will be Oct. 10, when the Pirates host the Providence Bruins in their home opener after two road games.

 

His father already has done a game from the Civic Center. In 1983, he was there to call the game when the Mike Keenan-coached Rochester Americans, the former AHL affiliate of the Sabres, completed a four-game sweep of the Maine Mariners to capture the Calder Cup.

 

"They flew me in to do that one game," he recalled.
