Posting Jeanneret-Darling sound clips

Recently I mentioned that I have a shoe box full of old cassette tapes with tons of Sabres highlights, mostly RJ but some Ted too.

The first challenge has been met. I got them to play on my Mac.

Now I need a good (read: free!) sound editing program. I just tried Garage Band and didn't like it. I need something simple. The extent of the editing would be "splicing out" some annoying clicks and clacks and such.

Then I need a place to post them. I don't want to mess around with designing my own site site, hosting it, etc. If they aren't stored here, or at letsgosabres.com, both good options from my POV but not necessarily from the respective webmasters POV, where? Any suggestions? Is there a YouTube for sound files?

Also, does anyone have a good handle on copyright and fair use issues? I am assuming that posting short clips, with accompanying editorial comment by me and others, easily qualifies as fair use and would not violate any copyrights.

Careful; this may be a RICO violation.

I've learned that the headphone jack is a lousy way of transferring sound to the computer. Too much hiss and background noise. Apparently I need a line level cassette deck. $20 on eBay! It never stops.

Audacity is good, free, and easy! I use it all the time to cut up sound clips/songs for stuff and even make ringtones for my phone. go with that

Crap, I've got one like that you can have for free. 10 buck my ars.

Really? Does it work? I didn't think that was an outrageous price to pay. Especially since it was only used twice, in church!

I've got a single and dual deck, both used to crank out Ozzy. it may be cheaper and more faithful to go with Church and free shipping. LOL If not PM me.

Since I'm going to be playing Jeanneret clips, I think I need something used by Holy Rollers.
