Alternate unis primary for 09-10?

I just read something interesting, but I dont know how true it is. It seems that the alternates from last year will be the new homes. This may have been posted already some place, but o well.

Ya, this is being discussed in another thread, but there hasn't been anything definitive in regards to this.

 

Also, take this with a HUGE grain of salt. I could go in to wikipedia and add the Sabres just signed Deluca to a 5 year deal (it's a 5/5 deal, of course!).

As far as I know, this is nothing more than wishful thinking. However, I have heard that Philly is making last year's third jersey, the orange ones, into their primaries this year. That, I believe, is official. So, maybe the person that wrote that in Wikipedia actually has a source for Buffalo, too, or maybe he/she just added Buffalo for fun. Just swapping the thirds and homes from last year would be a simple transition step to 40th anniversary season, 2010-11, when it appears they will be using the updated classic logo for both homes and aways. So, you'd get:

 

2008-09: Home - Slug, Away - Slug, Third - Classic

2009-10: Home - Classic, Away - Slug, Third - Slug

2010-11: Home - Classic, Away - Classic, Third - ? (probably Slug)

And just to throw one thing out there as a possibility. That logo is the "newest" and they still have plenty of those jerseys to sell. That's one huge reason to push that logo.

And of course, up until a couple of seasons ago, Philly's orange jerseys were the primary ones and the blacks were the third. The front office must have gotten a memo from the marketing department that they needed to sell more jerseys.... :rolleyes:

I heard this before last Christmas, so I made sure not to buy any gifts with the slug on it. The old logo will be the official logo again. I don't know if it'll be the way you describe, but in a couple of years, we'll be rid of the slug.
