apuszczalowski Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Who?????? Wow, start planning the parade.....................................
Two or less Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 lol While i know this is a really minor signing, this dude is a bigger version of Patrick Kaleta. And he likes to fight from what i understand. So i think this pretty much ends any chances of Andrew Peters returning to Buffalo. Kaleta gets a bash brother. I think he'll be a very liked player in Buffalo, despite not having much influence on winning or losing games.
Two or less Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Still searching for official link.... but here's a blog from Denver post when they didn't make him an offer, making him a UFA.... from the blog to the comments, seems like everyone liked him. http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2009/06/29...cody-mccormick/
shrader Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Don't you mean "very well liked in PORTLAND"?
Two or less Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 No, he'll be on the Sabres 4th line...
carpandean Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 I think he'll be a very liked player in Buffalo, despite not having much influence on winning or losing games. This is a pretty much what everyone said about Montador, too. Don't get me wrong, I love that we are adding some more guys that are hard workers and big hitters, but our top-six still isn't any tougher.
shrader Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 No, he'll be on the Sabres 4th line... Only if two more forwards are shipped out. They don't have room for a guy like that and Ellis.
carpandean Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Well, I guess it's safe to say that he's fearless: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Took on a guy that is 6'8", 260 lbs.
Two or less Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Only if two more forwards are shipped out. They don't have room for a guy like that and Ellis. With no deals- Vanek/Roy/Stafford MacArthur/Connolly/Pominville Paille/Hecht/Goose Kaleta/McCormick/Mair Spare- Ellis Not sure what the problem is.
shrader Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 And for the record, he is on the roster on Sabres.com.
carpandean Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 And for the record, he is on the roster on Sabres.com. The league thinks that he's a Sabre: http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=84695...id=nhl-keymatch
nfreeman Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 With no deals- Vanek/Roy/Stafford MacArthur/Connolly/Pominville Paille/Hecht/Goose Kaleta/McCormick/Mair Spare- Ellis Not sure what the problem is. I guess the question is whether Kennedy and/or Gerbe stick with the Sabres. It does seem like this marks the end for Peters.
ROC Sabres Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 I guess the question is whether Kennedy and/or Gerbe stick with the Sabres. It does seem like this marks the end for Peters. Could still be both considering they haven't signed Stafford yet. I'm sure they plan on doing it but I get the feeling it's only a matter of time before some form of offer sheet comes his way. Kinda wish it would to force the sabres to either sh!t or get off the pot.
deluca67 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Has this been confirmed? I've been watching ESPN all day and have yet to see this scroll across the bottom of the screen.
SabreFan78 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Way to go Darcy! Locking up all these huge names....this team is stacked now! Look out Pittsburgh you have a new nemesis in the east!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you drinking the Darcy Regier kool-aid, that's a lot of sarcasm there ;)
cdexchange Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Well, I guess it's safe to say that he's fearless: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Took on a guy that is 6'8", 260 lbs.
SHAAAUGHT!!! Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Link confirming signing: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=458039
carpandean Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Link confirming signing: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=458039 And straight from the team.
ROC Sabres Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I was actually hoping for the other McCormick.
Hawerchuk Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Ok. Good bruiser guy with energy. Making some moves. I mean, Peter's just flat out sucks anyway. Who would like to see Shanahan, Tanguay or Sundin be signed next?! ME!!!!!! Ok... I just woke up now from my dream...
Two or less Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 I love some people here. Always whining that this team is too weak and bunch of girls, then the team signs pretty much a guy who plays a Patrick Kaleta style of hockey except is bigger and they sign him for really cheap and to a 1-year deal, and if he really does stink, they can send him to Portland, people then make sarcastic jokes. LOL This team needs A LOT more help. Another forward. Get rid of a few guys. Maybe even add another d-men. But, this is another move they needed to make and Regier found a really good quality player.
wjag Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Anything, and I mean anything, this team does to get more physical, I'm all for.
