I see,. All these players are such impact players.

except maybe Ballard.

I would definitely take Sarich and O'Donnell (maybe not any longer) on my blueline any day of the week.

Why is that funny? Because he won't get a sniff of the NHL, because he will, or because he's not very good. I'd take him over Paetsch or Tallinder right about now.

I always think it's funny when terrible players end up with powerhouse teams like Detroit.. and while I'll give you Janik > Tallinder, Paetsch imo is better than both of them and if actually given a chance to play consistently it would probably show.

No way in hell Janik/Paetsch are better than Tallinder. He may get beat up around here but he is not that bad.

I'm fairly confident that Paetsch is or can be a better player than Tallinder. I haven't seen Janik play since 06 and frankly don't care to prove that point anyway, but Tallinder is awful. As I said, I personally think Paetsch has the potential to be better than Tallinder (if he isn't already) but we'll never know because Lindy continues to sit him in the press box as Tallinder and Sekera continuously cough the puck up in our own end.

Paetsch is a "break glass in case of emergency" type of d-man.

Very limited skills, average skater, weak but accurate shot.

I guess plucky would be the best word for him.

This sounds too much like the Nathan proponents that thought he could be the next coming of Campbell. He's hit his ceiling, he's a #7 at best.

Lindy obviously has a thing for Swedes and Slovaks.

You can have an emergency on forward or defense, and call on Nathan. I actually liked him on the 4th line for that short period last year. Gave them some flexibility in-game, too, should a defenseman get hurt or be in the penalty box. With Rivet and now Montador on defense, it may be a good idea to play him on that 4th line regularly.
