Minus Hecht, Vanek, Lydman, Tallinder ans Sekera this team is stocked with North American players. Thoughts?

Interesting indeed. Who's usually in Ruff's doghouse, a North American player or a non-NAP? Vanek is the perfect example. Your best player has his ice time cut, while the underachieving North American "boys" lap up the ice.

Did anyone see the Flyers roster on NHLNumbers.com? Their list of signed forwards are all Canadian and I had to do a double take. Usually you see one or two Euros and/or American skaters. Just struck me as interesting.

Check out the last three drafts. Not one European player. You think the misses with Zagrapan, Persson, and Kryukov made them think twice about drafting Euro's. If I were in charge, I'd fire the head European youtube  scout .

Picking players that have more desire to make it to the NHL; even if it means getting paid less?

Picking players the fans will like better?

The issues with transfer agreements and the fact that you know only hold a european's rights for 2 years have lead to the drop in Euro draft picks. Just take a look at the recent disappearance of Russians in the first round. It's not just a Sabres thing.

Who is this so wise in the ways of science?
